thought id share this because its rather awesome.
there's these new pills that have been tested on mice. 4 out of 5 mice have cured of meso (asbestos cancer).
and since its an existing drug, there is no 10 year wait for it to come on the market.
i dont know the exact name of the drug, but its huge fucking news people who have 'meso'
hopefully this horrible cancer can be cured :)
Where did you see or hear this??

It's a horrible, horrible disease, I've seen too many people close to me go through it.
Just a few weeks ago, a friend of ours got married, just a nice low key event at their house, his Dad came out of hospital just to be there for his son's wedding and 4 days later he passed away :(
The sooner there is a positive cure the better.

hey thats awesome news
my old man passed away a couple of years back, he ended up with only a quarter of one lung (on the O2 bottle full time) ... on top of bowel and prostate cancers, 6 heart attacks and strokes ... a drug like that could have made his life heaps easier
please keep updating on this one tocchi!

forgot to update this.
basically, there wasnt much info on it, then wham suddenly my dad tells me he's on this (like not going to be, but actually on the course).
because he's on this, he gets free medical stuff for his life etc.
which is a great help, since these pills are now free. and at $100 each, meaning $25,000 a year, it saves a LOT !!
hard to say if its working or not, but he seems happier, seems a bit healthier and such :) so its a good start :)

Oh man.... sorry to hear :( Heartfelt condolences to your family and yourself.
Cancer of any kind is fucked. I know because I've had bone cancer before in my right leg and had a bone graft. Luckily for me, it was removed and the bones grew back bigger & better. 9 months in a full leg cast was pretty ordinary though. To this day I still can't run properly and even short walks result in leg pain like a chronic stitch. Hopefully one day there is a cure for this bastard of a disease.

Very sorry to hear, my old man has been through chemo/radiotherapy, definately gets to ya. Atleast i get the chance to sue some useless doctors who let it go 14 months before contacting us back!
