Looking for an auto box to suit the Statesman, current one is shagged and I need a box pretty badly. I don't want some stupidly priced built box, just a standard box. I will be getting it rebuilt anyway, so even if it's just straight out of a car, that's fine by me.
The only thing I need to have with the box is the torque converter, don't need anything else.
I'm pretty sure any auto box from the LS-series engines (except the 4L65E found in the AWD cars, ie Adventra) will suit.
Will pickup ASAP within Metro area.

$1950 is a liiiiitle out of my price range.
Have already seen the one on LS1.com.au, would prefer to get one locally, but I'm keeping that one in mind as a last resort.
Thanks for the replies :)

one thats been advertised in quokka with burnt out clutches for $450 but same boat as your in
failing that i remember at a glance in one of the newest street commodore mags, vz ls1 auto boxes - $1650 brand new.. imo that would be the best way to go unless your rebuild comes in considerably cheaper.
and fyi from what i understood from talking to simon @ allfast the 4L60e and 4L65e are the same the only differnce being the 5 that just states it has a 5 pin planetary gearset but apparently most/all of the 60e's do aswell ? cant confirm that forsure. but as i understand, 4L60e 4 pin - 4L65e 5 pin
