As requested in another thread here are some photos of the new ride.
Always dreamt of owning an Italian exotic, the cars are a bit expensive so this is the next best thing.
The sound is intoxicating, sounds like it has a MoTeC at idle and then the induction roar when riding is amazing....hard to not go way too fast. Capable of a high 10sec/130+mph 1/4 mile so its more than enough bike for me! Slowly easing my way into it.
Won't do much to it, got a few carbon fibre pieces on the way so it'll mainly be cosmetic changes.
Details:
750cc engine developed with the help of Ferrari
135hp/185kg (nice power/weight ratio)
Nissin 6 pot brakes/320mm rotors
Showa forks
Ohlin steering damper
Designed by the legend, Massimo Tamburini

Such an amazing bike,
What carbon fibre pieces you going to add? coz it could be a bit hard to better perfection.

Thanks everyone. I'll try and get some video later in the week.
So thats what your avatard was recently ? Hot tail pipes ?
Correct.

Front fender (rear is already cf), heel plates, exhaust shield, injector covers (triangle shaped ones on either side) and swingarm cover. They are all black plastic/metal at this stage so the change won't be that noticeable, but will look nicer.

Yeah I might turn up to some meetpoints, not too keen on riding in a group of unknown cars on the actual cruise though.

Haha, shit I forgot! Fly over to QLD and I'm sure the new owner will take you for a spin! Yeah you are partly to blame for me doing this....thanks. :hahano:

Few little things done to the bike since I got it.
Checkover at the dealership to replace grommets, screws and other bits and pieces with new ones (I sound like Joe!). Gold plated fairing pins. A few carbon fibre pieces added and the custom plates [FFOUR] arrived and fitted along with a fender eliminator kit.
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c226/EVLR33/4598_79304104726_790409726_1678377_.jpg
Also getting a custom made alcantara seat done up, similar to the following design but with darker material and the F4 logo in red. Keep the red/green stitching. Should be a decent improvement of the fairly boring looking standard leather seat. Will take them about 2 weeks to make.

As long as you aren't like Joe in the fact that your ride doesn't lave the garage, that's the important bit. Looking awesome man.

id be embarresed to ride that 250 along side the mv in public
[FFOUR]
13-07-2009, 11:48 AM
Why? We all have to go through the 250 stage (unfortunately :p ) so nothing to be embarrassed about, regardless of what you ride with.
250 > no bike at all.....
only 11 months of embarrassing riding left... :P
Kilma
13-07-2009, 02:02 PM
Hahaha. Agreed though.
Looking nice Jan. Track day soon?
You getting into it and leaning over much, or babying it around almost upright?

Yeah no problems. You just get the big ugly plastic shit hanging down at the back.
This is what it looked like when I got it with QLD plates/rego and the full fender:

thommo
13-07-2009, 07:50 PM
that is uncool haha. i just chucked a fender eliminator on my 250, much better !
atleast as of 2010 you wont need a rego sticker anymore too
thommo
13-07-2009, 07:52 PM
i was meaning why cant you have a fender eliminator as the only thing you have really lost is a reflector as that rear hugger is still semi mud flap like
rear hugger won't stop stones getting flung at cars behind you, only stops the underside of your bike copping them.. hence the need for a rear fender too..
[FFOUR]

I changed my exhaust tonight and while it was off I couldn't resist starting her up....the phone recording doesn't do it justice but you get some idea.

is the exhaust an aftermarket item or is it just a new condition standard exhaust? Pipes look the same so i'm not sure.

Its just off a newer model MV which has the silver tips, luckily they are all interchangeable so it fits straight on.
Sounds slightly different under acceleration but it was mainly done for cosmetic reasons.
