We'll find out tomorrow night. I haven't run on them yet.

Lonewolf
22-07-2009, 05:58 PM
Should be there provided I can enter with cash and form on the night.

with the new cams regs, i presume its just the blue triangle and secondary form of bonnet lock?
Can anyone clarify this from the last few events?

monk_13
22-07-2009, 06:01 PM
no need for secondary bonnet lock from what i was told last time. do need battery triangle.

FranZ
22-07-2009, 09:54 PM
Standard bonnet lock is actually two locks hence no addition is needed.

Lonewolf
22-07-2009, 09:55 PM
exellente

new extinguisher and a triangle and should be good to go.

FranZ
22-07-2009, 09:58 PM
Make sure the new fire extinguisher is tagged!

Lonewolf
22-07-2009, 10:00 PM
fark, so much for the super cheap extinguisher.

Best place to purchase a tagged one on short notice?

monk_13
22-07-2009, 10:12 PM
I got one today at revolution racegear, walked across the road and round the corner and got it tagged. cost $7 for the tagging and $44 for the extinguisher. Ask them where the joint is. they can explain it better than my drunk self. Is a 2 minute walk literally.

The name of the joint was BE Fire Protection and Air con (or something similar).

Lonewolf
22-07-2009, 10:12 PM
work down the road from there, so shall do, cheers :)

Go Gear... sell them already tagged usually.

FranZ
23-07-2009, 07:16 AM
Go Gear can also tag for $5 too I think.

Lesson learnt; go for cheap; often doesnt make the grade in one way or another!

rxsevengt
23-07-2009, 07:28 AM
Fark, I just bought mine yesterday from revolution and their not tagged, also was unaware of the triangle being required for these events. Thank god you guys mentioned it haha
Can we still run if it's wet?

Evilteddy
23-07-2009, 07:42 AM
Yes you still run, just makes it more interesting.

Tocchi
23-07-2009, 08:14 AM
im just gonna get some blue tape :) a lot cheaper than buyer sticker sheets in long run.

and yeh, its still on if it rains, and more interesting lol

monk_13
23-07-2009, 09:10 AM
I bought the sticker sheet, then went to officeworks and bought a sheet of magnetic stuff that you make magnetic business cards out of. Stuck blue sticker to that, cut too size and heymagicpresto blue battery magnet thingy. It didn't move for the entire event last month. And comes in handy as a fridge magnet as well!

I have a couple sheets of the magnetic stuff left if anyone wants. Will bring it up with me tonight. (Someone just has to remember to bring scissors to cut it to size.)

FranZ
23-07-2009, 09:40 AM
Ive cut a heap of blue battery triangles out of top quality vinyl as it was too hard to try finding blue contact. You can have your very own for $2 :)

Brockas
23-07-2009, 12:14 PM
I'm out :(

Dead battery combined with a dozen other things that need to be done means I just don't have time to get the car ready :(

all i read is "new power is too scary atm"

Get a boat battery. I have one in my car. Lasts ages without being started.

Tocchi

ok shane, i took upon your idea, went out and bought the magnetic sheet and another sticker sheet from revolution.

battery sticker works a treat.

You know officially thats the wrong sticker - that sticker is to signify the location of a kill switch! Battery location is just a blue triangle with all sides being at least 150mm. ....just an fyi :P

Lonewolf
23-07-2009, 10:36 PM
i had pondered that, and thought the same thing.
Chris Reynolds says the one with the bolt is cooler, so thats all that matters.

Once again had a ball. New PB for me again. Down to a 61.5. Nice meeting a few more people, and cheers to Chis for the words of wisdom, helped immensely.

On a side note:

FUCKING LOL at the beached boat at the end of the night. Hurry up and youtube that footage Tocchi!

Was good to meet you dude, car is hot, and pretty quick time too!

Happy to shave 2 seconds off my best time, and thanks to Jai for driving a couple of laps to show me a few pointers, and the kind words.

Brockas: Fark that thing moves HARD.
Tocchi: epic LOL

Tonight was a good test session for me. Only went out 3 times but everything worked perfectly for Collie on Saturday.

I couldn't make it out to this one.
I blew the car/racing budget for the month on a set of coilovers.

I'll be out next time to take a stab at my PB.

We all commented on the sound of your car. Love it!

Sounds like a jet engine taking off when you come down the pit straight.

Lonewolf
24-07-2009, 12:13 PM
it also looked "interesting" at times coming onto the main straight...

Azrian

I heard it was called "testing the fuel surge" when coming onto the main straight.

Was too ashamed to look haha, I know I was by far the slowest on the night because I had people lapping me before I even got to the hairpin.

The instructor did a 61 but he did say the left front shock was completely gone, which is why it felt like it was wobbling around on braking/turn in, All I felt was the car trying to fling us into the barriers though

I have absolutely no confidence in my car anymore, I'm deciding if I'm going to keep it or not ATM. I've done 55's in a rental formula ford there before and felt perfectly safe doing it, But the RX scares the shit out of me even just driving slowly around there.

I'm still :eek3: from Brockas GTR haha, Thing was mental

Lonewolf
24-07-2009, 12:57 PM
left side gets the biggest workout too around there, no wonder there was no confidence!

I found out the hard way that you can't power through your fuck-ups when running R comps! Do not like to slide
