Posting on behalf of a mte here guys...

On another note a good mate Youngy (used to be on this forum a bit but doesn't have computer access anymore) got broken into last night.

The thieves stole:

1) 2009 Yamaha YZ 250 2stroke (full pro circuit system and monster energy graphics). This bike was brand new....ridden once.
2) 2008 KTM 450 SXF (2009 graphics, Renthal thin wall handlebars a nd Reikon oversize footpegs).
3) $8K cash (from the sale of a KTM 525).

They rode the bikes away (theft was in Willeton). He is pretty guttered as he loves his riding and only recently started riding serious again after he broke his leg in 9 places from a freestyle accident. Please help track these down....it is possible as I recently tracked my expensive pushy down and found where the thief lives :-)

A significant reward will be offered to anyone that leads to the recovery or capture!

Please ring 0407 082 372 with info.

After seeing so many dropkicks named & shamed on here after being given limited details, i thought this may work. Any info leading to the culprits would be greatly appreciated & pics of the dogs caved in heads will be posted as a reward

Cheers, Dean.

Will keep a look out, it might be an idea to post up some pictures of the bikes as this is a car forum and many of us wont know what the bikes look like.

how long ago did he sell the bike for $8000? seems a bit of a coincidence that they broke in while the money for the bike was still sitting around.

Was within the week i believe... Cash was to be used for a replacement short motor so kept in the house.
May have a phone number that was used to call for address of the bikes. Same number also called another number from quokka, requested address, didn't show, bikes mysteriously went missing! Once i have it i'll post it here :)

my dirtbikes are insured with shannons.

I'd be pretty pissed if mine was stolen, but meh got insurance thats what its for.

It appears to be pretty common for bikes to be stolen from houses that have recently sold bikes in the quokka or paper. I was very hesitant about advertising mine.

Luckily where i live is pretty quiet so not much passing traffic, but when i move to new house will be a on a busy road so will be very cautious about having bikes out front of house or garage door open.

Bike insurance is so worth it....they get stolen all too often, and so quickly also.

Our 2 cars and 2 bikes are insured with Shannon's, the way it worked out for us was that it didn't cost us any extra to insure the bikes because the multi-vehicle discount we received basically covered it. Couldn't argue with that!

Got to agree with that, the best security for any house is a few big dogs.

When I had my 20"s at my house and a few low life pingpingpingpings where trying to steal them and my dog (poddle) barked and woke me up then they bolted when I went to find out what was going on. This happened twice and I'm pretty proud of him for that. But I'm sure if I had a rottie they would have never jumped the fence in the first place.

Can only insure for fire and theft then proof it was secure. had that through YMF with my 06 YZ250.

Will keep a look out if I see in the paper n stuff.

Best of luck man.
