Hi guys,,

Querying on same car as the warm / hot start issues.. Sean @ allstar fixed it as it was a corrupt fiel in the ECU!! << --- odd.

We fitted GTR injectors and wired up the GTR piggy back thingo. Had them tested all good. New Seals, tune - all good. Flowing 260 odd hp out of a rb20 gtst with r34 turbo, exhaust and fmic.

GTR INJECTORS ARE GAY AND KEEP LEAKING! who can help with advice, cheap sale, contacts for replacement aftermarket ones to suit the current setup?

been told Sard are a good way to go. Any advice?

cheers in advance!

sard injectors are good, as are the hks/denso ones and nismo injectors. have used all three of these brands before without any dramas. from memory i think you will need to find the collar size of the starndard gtr injectors and try get an aftermarket injector with the same size collar otherwise you might have to change fuel rail as well. 11mm comes to mind wich rules out the sards cos i think there 11.5mm... hks ones are 11mm...and nismo only do side feed that i know of

Denso make injectors.
Nismo, SARD, Power Enterprise, Tomei etc etc buy from Denso.

I have some 850cc injectors I can let got Cheap come with plugs that fit. Drop in replacement for GTR injectors.

2 of the 6 didn't test up as well as I woulda liked. You can get them cleaned and see how u go. Be like $300 the set.

:werd:

Nah mate, starting issue is fixed.

Ending up being a corrupt file with the Nistune.

Having issues with the injector(s) leaking. Just moved the troublesome injector from the 6th to the 1st and the leak followed the injector, so it is either dodgy seals on that injector (they are brand new...) or it is leaking out of the housing...

Is this common for GTR injectors? Cause the hassle im having is making me think about going for some brand newys...

Only thing is, since it is a RB20 it doesn't really need overkill like 700cc or 800cc injectors....

zeroyon, what brand are the injectors, and do you think 850cc's are suitable for a RB20? :\

rx7 series 2 secondaries work well 550 cc side feed low impedence just like the 440cc gtr ones

....tail fed

The GTR injs leak out the body with age... these things are up to 20 years old so its no surprise, it appears the early original ones have a black coating on the body where the later ones and ones replacing the earlier R32 ones just have the raw stainless finish
Get another injector GTR or a set, they are $50ea or $250/$300 a set new Japanese injectors are going to cost you bulk for decent ones.

Cool, that makes sense.

Can you recommend a place which sells them, particularly newer ones.

When I was looking, they weren't as easy to find as I expected. Maybe I was looking in the wrong places...

Is this common for GTR injectors?

From my experience, Yes. I've had a few leakers over time.

They are Sard 850's. Not sure i mentioned but they are basically new, been fitted, bench tested but never actually used in a car.

As for the rb20, guess depends how much HP your chasing. Most ecu's will have no trouble controlling that sized injector.
