Pride is dead. They were bought out by UFC.
Other big alternative now is Affliction who have Fedor Emelianenko rated best heavyweight in the world by many. If you see his last 2 fights with Tim Silvia & Andre Arlovski, you will understand why.
*waits for Brockas to post Ju Jitsu demotivational poster that he always seems to have on tap*

King of submissions.
His brother though was very lacklustre in comparison, always looked like he was hungover when he was fighting.
Always liked pride and K1 as it seemed to be more mixed, a few freaks chucked in the mix too (bob Sapp, Hongman Choi, Giant Silva, etc)
UFC have tougher blokes by far, I wouldnt want to come across any of them in a dark alleyway.

Fedor is by far the greatest you watch his fight with tim silvia an then see the fights tim silvia has fought before an you can tell he is extremely talented.
I'd like to see cro cop back in the game aswell he was a personal fav for me

Bob Sapp relies too much on his size from what I have seen (very little). Doesn't have a whole lot of actual skill. Suppose the only fights I have seen him in were against top notch competitors like Fedor. Not that I would go saying this to his face either.
Watch Fedor's fight with Arlovski. Intense finishing. Quite unexpected as well.
Person I would least like to meet in a dark alley would have to be Tank Abbott. Big bastard, unlikely you will knock him out, likely to knock you out in about 2 seconds flat. Biggest fear would be he seemed like the type of person who wouldn't stop laying into you after you went down. He actually developed some decent skills towards the end of his time in the UFC as well.
I've only seen Cro Cop in the UFC. Defenitely didn't live up to the hype they put him up to. Love it how his entrance music is so simple and old (Duran Duran).

Agreed about Bob Sapp, he is pretty pathetic with actual ability and runs out of puff too, But i do like seeing variety with sizes and styles, instead of seeing the same builds, brawlers with one or 2 disciplines.
Crocop had a lightning kick, but Fedor managed to beat him on points on the occasion they fought.
Wanderlei Silva in my eyes was the best, Almost every fight was a tko and brutal as well, knees to the heads, frog kicks to the face, one mean pingpingpingping.

I never saw Wanderlei Silva in Pride or anything other than UFC or his highlight reel. When I see him, the fight from the early UFC days where he was decimated by Belfort goes through my head. I realise he is a HUGELY different fighter nowadays though.
I can't believe how much the light heavyweight belt is being handed around in the UFC at the moment. It's been a while since someone dominated that division the way Tito & Chuck used to.
St Pierre has always been a personal favourite, and you can't go past Anderson Silva for being as close to being unbeatable as he is.
