ive currently got full comp with QBE for the FG.
premium and excesses are reasonable.
and they've got the tint and simmons on the insurance.
basically, just wondering if anybody has any experience with them?
are they good for payouts/claims when a car is modded?
i need to inform them about the brembos and teins,
ive got no issue paying a bit more for premium/excesses, but i dont want them to refuse a claim in the worst case scenario

Don't know about QBE, but Shannons is top notch. Highly recommended. Haven't dealt with them with making a claim on a modified car, but they were brilliant with my at fault motorbike claim.

shannons now insure under 25s..
call them up and get a quote
im 18, but couldnt insure me cos of lack of driver experience in a modded car..
but said if i did a few track days/ defensive driving or something.. then they will mostly like reconsider and insure me.
shannons do under 25s, especially when you tell them you have a CAMS license

I've had an insurance policy from QBE before, but it wasn't for a modified car though. I did go through a claim with them, someone drove into the side of my car when it was parked. I had no hassles getting it sorted.

my only problem with QBE is you have to tell them about all your fines

^^As you do with every insurance company.
I've had my Supercharged XR8 insured with them since I was about 20-21 (I can't remember the age I was when I bought it), and I have quite a questionable driving history.
Unfortunately, it really depends on who you get on the other end of the phone with a lot of the Shannons phone calls. It's unfortunate, but true.

whats a "good" price? (i know its an individual case quote, but i wouldnt mind a rough price)
im paying $2155 a year for full comp with QBE. $1200 worth of excess ($600 standard and $500 age).
that was with a few fines and a claim ($9k damage, my fault, typhoon versus concrete pole)
are shannons generally more pricey? or reasonable?

Wrong, my insurance company (cuna) is only interested in how many times youve lost your license, dont care for any fines...

QBE are dumcuunts!
My mate's mum tried to claim them for an accident that happened recently and they wouldn't pay out because she has put 2 claims through with a previous insurance company.
The claims were 1. an accident which was NOT her fault and 2. a branch fell on her windscreen + bonnet.
BOTH claims were 10 and 12 years ago respectively and they chose to dig it up and said something like 'we won't be doing a payout for your car because you filed a claim about this and blah blah blah' fuucken idiots!!
Currently my mate's mum are talking to lawyers and shiet to get their asses sued the fark out!!
So.. even though you are covered by these dumcuunts, just make sure that when you do have an accident, they don't bring up bullshiet about you having speeding fines and that they aren't able to do a payout for ya!!

Every insurance company I have ever dealt with you have had to tell them about your complete driving history (including my fine for running a red light on a pushbike). Can't win them all Ricey. Don't tell = grounds for denial of claim

Shannons wee the best quote I got for my car. Everyone else was a couple of hundred more expensive.

You said every insurance company asks for fine history, they dont.
Every insurance company youve dealt with may do, but not all of them.

(1) driving history :p and (2) the fact its parked in a driveway not a garage
but the CAMS licence is a big plus he said

ummm Shannons want 5 years of driving history.
Just Cars want 3 years.
so if it was 3 years ago that you got done, then you might be fine
really? wow...
don't know if that's sarcasm but i'm under 25 and have a CAMS license and insured with shannons.
justcars have stupidly high excesses. another one you can try is Famous Insurance (http://www.famousinsurance.com.au/page/young-and-cool)
