s1 is the one with the older style lights. chassis is teh same but the later models have much better suspension and a wider track stance.
advantage is they are lighter.. and that one.. well its off the chain!

There is no real difference in track between S1 and S2, and the difference in track between an Elise and an Exige only comes down to the wider wheels the Exige uses (which can be fitted to an Elise fine - at least for the S1). In fact the car that won superlap last year (Peter Lucas) was a motorsport Elise, which pre dates an Exige and is basically an Elise with a motorsport body on it (they then went on to put this body on the Elise chassis to sell as the Exige, with a more powerful VHPD engine). Anyone can buy Exige clamshells in the UK and fit them to an Elise chassis.
The S2 cars did come with better dampers from factory, but you can actually fit the same Bilstein dampers to an S1 (it's a common upgrade as the S1 Koni's are not the best and tend to wear out). The S2s also came with much better tyres.
The top cars in the Lotus racing series in the UK are often S1s, although a lot of that has to do with cheaper initial cost and a small difference in weight. There is certainly no inherent benefit in an S2 chassis over an S1 (unless you like ease of getting in and out, or prefer the looks).

I think he's going to London soon, plenty of quick Loti in the UK to enjoy.
Lukian, how is the FC going? I remember selling you a turbo half shaft a few years ago. Is it being sold?
Make sure you get to the Ace Cafe meets!
