I couldnt find them in WA when I was looking, Apparently Revolution Racegear dont do simpson.. I've since found out Chris Mills can get Simpson gear through Rocket but I havent heard of anyone getting one through them.

http://www.simpsonraceproducts.com.au/ have a good rep aswell, a few people I know have used them.

Revolution Racegear probably worth a look, not sure how their pricing compares, but was recommended by a mate.

What about a british standard helmet? It meets CAMS regs.

FranZ

CAMS and AASA rules haven't changed. The ANDRA change is that is has to be S2002 (Snell) at a minimum or ASNZ 1698 (ie all helmets made after June 2006). AS 1698 no longer meets ANDRA standards. Helmets can also be no older than 12 years old.

Its also worth noting that ANDRA specifies a full face helmet - an open face helmet is not acceptable.

British standards etc are still ok as they exceed the ASNZ 1698.

A Simpson would be overkill for Wednesday nights.
Just note the standards on the Motorplex or ANDRA websites and take them with you to a motorbike shop.

I wouldn't go as far to say as a Simpson would be overkill - how much is what you put the helmet around worth? ;)

Very true...you could say no helmet is overkill!
Hmm let me rephrase...in the Soarer my head is worth a motorbike helmet. If I was in a nitro funny car then it would be worth a Simpson.

keep in mind most motorbike helmets inner linings arn't fire resistant
I would also be looking for one that is compatable with a HANS Devise.
and the lighter the better when it comes to helmets

Helmets can also be no older than 12 years old.

That's a pitty - I was planning on using my dads old racing helmet from when he used to race his GTR-XU1 dirt track race car. :/

Just so everyone is clear on this.

Notes on Helmets...
If your helmet is over 12 years old then it is probably not acceptable for use on the Drag Strip. Look for the following markings to check if your helmet is ok to use for racing. Sometimes the label is under the padding inside the helmet.

Full Face Helmets bearing any of these standards are acceptable;
SNELL SA 2000, SA 2005, SFI 31.2 (US)
SNELL M 2000, M2005, SFI 41.2 (US)
BS 6658-85 Type A (British)
SNELL 2000/2005 - SFI 31.1 (US)
BS 6658-1985 Type A/FR (British)
AS/NZS 1698/2006 (AS/NZS 1698) < Note this new standard

EDIT: Just went and picked this up from 5 star Yamaha $109.
