I work at the Sheraton Perth, the busy season will be starting soon in feb and I know from the 14/1 at least 4 people from the bar here will be leaving and evening positions will be available. Also the concierge dept are looking for people to work PM shifts but you have to start at 3 most nights.

maybe? apply anyway there are a ton of jobs here.

i think bunnings is one of the best paying places. at least it used to be a few years ago.

IIRC its about ~$18 f/t-p/t & around ~$23 casual.
No shift loadings, except for weekends.

Just to give you an idea, when I was at Cole Supply chain in canningvale(afternoon shift), casuals were getting ~$29 an hour (+ incentives), I was on ~$26 f/t (+ incentives)

just a thought,
How will a second job affect tax etc?
Do I pay more? Get more back? Get raped in income tax?
Someone care to explain?
I don't really understand it

TJ
14-01-2009, 09:02 AM
50% tax on second income, but it comes back to you unless it bumps you over the next income threshold if I recall from the last time I had a weekend job.

14-01-2009, 09:45 AM
you could always try and get a 'cash' job
.... nightfill is generally pretty cruisy, but some places will call you at the last minute if you arent guaranteed hours.

as for tax depends on how close you are to the next bracket,
as below

I'd look for cash jobs.

Some smaller IGA's etc would be willing to pay nightfill in cash, best to go and speak to them in person nicely.

pizza delivery.
did it for a few months, b4 getting into the shits witht he boss.
i was getting paid 15bux an hour - drive your own car.

my mate worked at another one, was getting paid 18 an hour and 1/2 dollars per delivery.. also drive your own car.

cash + free dinner = win.

some nights like on tuesday where its quiet, you can sometimes go through the night only doing 1-2 deliveries..
