BCF - i got bought one for christmas and it now sits next to my bed. They say you're not supposed to shoot them out of water but it works fine. Only grip is that it's single shot. I suppose that's fair given the damage one could inflict on someone.

Apparently bottle shops get help up with them quite alot.

got a firearms liscence lol but unleashing a .270 Winchester in a populated neighbourhood isnt the healtiest idea lol plus would just bring more pressure on the good firearms owners of aus... firearms are a HUGELY last resort for vermin control in urban areas ;)

Apparently you shouldn't shoot those out the water as there is far more friction than the barrell is designed for so the piston could potentially blow the barrell. So i've heard.

that would result in massive fail :(

firearms license .... get a paintball gun

you hit them in the face with no protection and I can't see them coming at you too quickly... plus the sound they make would scare most off.... try freezing the pods first for maximum damage?

paintball gun and load it with marbles(or ball bearings/frozen paintballs. frozen paintballs will crack ribs.)

as far as spear guns go, i used to have something called a 'reef gun' only about 2ft long at the most. and yeh, they dont travel too long if fired out of the water...plus they will snap the cord and bend the spear if they hit something hard...

cord wont be attached the spear gun mostlikely a brick, went and had a look today but only had expensive ones and were out of shorties..

as for paintball guns i have 3 (registered), but i may aswell go at them with a real firearm as itd result in the same charge for me its harder to get a pball liscenced than a .22cal rifle

i had a Mares Cyrano 970 pnuematic (bout $600 new) for a year or so, piece of piss to load and very powerful - have shot trout and bluebone from 6-8 meters away no probs at all. If you're after ease of loading, dont get a banded gun - they are a fucken pain to load.

Best tool ive found for this application is a 1m length of 120mm XLPE Cable hit someones arm or leg with enough force and youll see them on the ground with a nice broken bone :D
