duplex should have a meter for each place all next to each other, will be just behind hte boundary line, shouldn't be hard to find
hardest part will be figuring out which one is yours :)
maybe knock on neighbors doors and let them know you need to turn them all off for 5 mins
where are you located?
im in cloverdale ive found a meter by its self which im sure is the water one right near our letter box but cannot find a tap on or near it for the life of me

The meters, depends on the lay out of ur home but you should either have a selection of meters out the front all lined up and its as simple as turning on a garden tap and check which one is clicking away out the front and turn that one off.
Otherwise they might be just at the front of ur property under a small tin/steel lid with a water corp symbol.
If you just want to repair a hot tap find your hot water system and there will be an isolation tap on that so you can isolate just the hot line.
Now actually fixing the leak requires a few tools,
.simple pair of grips or a shifter
.re seating tool (if the brass seat is buggered)
. needle nose pliars (if the washer gets caught in the wall)
Pretty much undo the handle and the bib of the tap till its just a spindle in the wall.
Using grips or spanner take the spindle out of the wall
Using ur fingers and a torch check the seat of the housing in the wall for inperfections as water leaking past the washer will actually cut through the brass and so even a new washer will not fix the leak in that case you will then need to re seat it.
If this is the case you can then fork out for a tool $50-$120
or pay one of us tools to do it.
Simply slap in a washer preferably a soft rubber one if it has small imperfections then slap it all back together.
Im pretty bad at writing instructions but if worse comes to worse if you live nearby or im heading that way i could always come round and take care of it.
Taps can be rebuilt to function smoothly and like new if they are not to damaged we usually charge $110 to do a set (that inc the call out fee) for what is really a simple 15 min job for someone who knows what they are doing and with the right bits(seals etc).
But im sure i could work out something for you .......
If you still have problems finding ur meter call ur land lord or ask one of the neighbours.
Or you could always go back to giving girls the barry and just let the tap drip on lol.
Pm me if needed.....
not a prob mate ill have another hunt for it tomorrow and yeh if no joy ill pm ya thanks :D

I have a little issue with my hot water as well. Turn hot water on and nothing comes out. Turn cold on (leaving hot tap on), then turn cold off, and hot continues running. Been getting a lot worse over the last month, so need to get it fixed. Who can come and help?

Kilma what type of taps are they...
are they a shower set, or a basin set or even in the kitchen etc...
is it the only ones that do it in the house?

All taps in the house. Kitchen, shower, basin, washing machine.
None of the taps out side have a problem, but I would assume that is because they don't fun hot water.
Fiddled with the hot water the other day, and they seem to come on first time every time since, but don't have as much water pressure as it used to I don't think.
Cheers
