Well, we're outta here! As of tonight, Amanda and myself will be leaving for the USA. We get back 2 days after MV09.

There will be many photos, we're driving everywhere! Our trip
includes:

- Landing in LA, spending xmas there, then doing Universal Studios and Disneyland.
- Driving up Highway 1 to San Francisco.
- New Years in San Francisco, doing Alcatraz, etc etc.
- Driving inland, stopping at Yosemite National Park for 2 days, driving through Death Valley, etc etc.
- Las Vegas.
- Drive to Hoover Dam, then onto Grand Canyon South Rim for a couple of days.
- Drive to San Diego, doing all the usual stuff there (Zoo, Wildlife Park, etc).
- Fly to New York for a week.

For now, merry xmas (happy holidays if you're that way inclined) and a happy new year to everyone! :D

doubtful on the burnout, i drove one for a month or so... they have no guts unless you get the grunt model, if its a hire its probably not one of them.

Merry Christmas Joe - from the snowfields of Bulgaria. I'll be spending new years and xmas in some old communist styled chalet covered in the freezing snow. Have a good one. Just be careful of the fog in SanFrancisco. It WILL turn a nice blue skied day to night within one hour if your near the bridge.

Correct.

The Hertz Mustang will be the V6 so good luck with the burnout quest, even the 6.2L V8 Corvette we hired couldn't do one - TC off button seemed to be disabled.

Sounds like fun Joe. Take plenty of pics, and don't be shy to put some oil down on the road if the Stang isn't capable of skids :D

Have fun bro.

Lots of pics with the new camera!!

I'm staying at a hotel which I'll post up in another thread right now. It's blown my mind. It's the Hong Kong version of the Venetian (in Vegas).
When you see it, imagine the same hotel but double the size, and you'll know why I can't get over it.

- Las Vegas.

Vegas is great but the card slappers are annoying as is the litter problem

- Drive to Hoover Dam, then onto Grand Canyon South Rim for a couple of days.

Hoover Dam is cool, Grand Canyon is awesome but drive was longer than I expected took a full day driving there and back but well worth it.

- Drive to San Diego, doing all the usual stuff there (Zoo, Wildlife Park, etc).

Did seaworld the whale show was cool

- Fly to New York for a week.

For now, merry xmas (happy holidays if you're that way inclined) and a happy new year to everyone! :D

I also had a v6 mustang in convertable, nice to drive handled ok but no power hahaha

They are some awesome photos Joe!

Once you can smash them into Lightroom or something and adjust the levels around a bit, will really make them stand out! (I HOPE YOU ARE SHOOTING RAW!)

The birds and Manhattan (?) Island (second last) are two of my favourites.

ohh nyc, how i miss that place

Joe
16-01-2009, 07:10 AM
Unfortunately, no RAW Marc...needed the space on the 2x 4gb cards!!

Does not matter though, I've had some good results editing JPG's in Lightroom already, should be sweet :)

Picked up a 430EXII Speedlite, lens hood and a polarizing filter over here for CHEAP, made such a massive difference to all our photos (especially indoor ones and through glass, such as on helicopter rides).

Nice Joe - what did you think of San Fran? NYC is amazing - are you there now? Should go see the plane that ditched into the Hudson if you are!

On the subject of NYC, I HATE the cold, but much preferred NYC in winter. Could of had something to do with the fact when I was in NYC in Summer it was 40 degrees, and when I was there in winter it was Xmas time....

16-01-2009, 07:48 AM
Circular polarizing filter? Make sure to spin it to get the best effect! If it is, sometimes it will be too dark in some situations and look over-saturated.

Bring me back another Holset (HX40 minimum) while you're there would ya =)

;398252']Nice Joe - what did you think of San Fran? NYC is amazing - are you there now? Should go see the plane that ditched into the Hudson if you are!

San Francisco was off the chain....best coffee I had was there, and c*nts are so friendly there too....we were walking around on NYE with a couple of hundred thousand people out on Fisherman's Wharf, and I only saw ONE incident between two Mexicans.

Dude, we were on the Staten Island Ferry when that crash happened this arvo....I was wondering what all the Coast Guard boats and helicopters were doing going the other direction very quickly!! We got home and worked out what the fuss was about!

Is it just me, or does everyone else who has been here think shit is f*cking cheap? Especially clothing. $22 for a pair of Levi jeans, $30 for G-Star Raw T-Shirts....wtfbbq! F*ck our $18 movie tickets, Notorious tickets were $6 each. Subway is $5, Corona cartons are half the price we pay. Got some Nike Air Force 1's for $45.

That being said though, the AU$75 a night parking at our San Francisco Hotel made me emo.

I like how cheap cars are here....can buy a BRAND NEW F TRUCK for $25k, where as c*nts in Australia sell them 2nd hand for near 100k....and idiots buy them.

Lots more pics to post, we went to so many places here.....and Marc, there is no substantiation to that rumour, nor is there a HX40 in my luggage :D Also Marc, tell Justin to fire up the coffee machine for me next Wed morning, I'm back at work :D .....I've not had a really good coffee here at all, although I found half decent ones in SF. EMO.
