View Full Version : camera bags
so where is a good place to go look at camera bags?
either to buy from or to view to get an idea so i can purchase the same online later.
im liking the quality of the lense bag that my 100-400mm L came in but it isnt practical to lugg that and my pissy little camera bag around all day at a horse show. plus taking the lense on/off all the time in the dust would be a bad idea.

http://www.qualitycamera.com.au/index.php?cPath=23_40 tells you what size lens will fit in the bag, the lowepros are decent bags I got a Naturetrekker and fits all my gear is prety big though haha, Also look at the Crumpler bags think my next medium size one will be one of those.

I have a Lowepro shoulder bag at the moment but its really got nowhere near enough room so im going to retire that to a 2-lens holiday job.
The Think Tank Airport Antidote is probably one of the best backpacks, is pretty roomy, completely customisable and can carry a 15" laptop. Its designed to be the size for carry on luggage too which is good. Not cheap though, cant remember the price.

Anyone have any recommendations of a bag which can hold a 40D + grip attached ? I am also having a dilemma choosing a decent bag as all my gear is squeezed into a handycam bag.

I got one of the Tamrac Expedition 8's (there's a version that fits a laptop as well, mines not that flash, just a basic Expedition 8)
Fits 1D Mk III with a 24-105L on it, 30d body by itself, 18-55mm kit lens for the 30d (backup), 70-200 f/2.8L, 50-500 Sigma, 2x flashes, spare batteries and cards as required, has a couple of pockets for thin stuff like business cards, earplugs etc and another thin but large section about the size of a large magazine, that i use to carry a wired remote and chuck manuals and stuff like that in... And on the front is a strap and pocket setup to hold a monopod or tripod...
Plus, even when fully loaded, it's really comfortable to carry... has a couple of well padded straps, waist strap and a chest strap if you're really getting serious...
