Well its a round of goodbyes -

Goodbye Mark Skaife - no matter what you think of him now, he has for more then 20 years been at the top of the game. Outstanding driver, and part of the legend of the Godzilla - demolishing the field in the 32 GTR in the Group A days. His highly opinionated views will be missed.

Good bye Oran Park - 38 years straight this place has hosted top level racing in Australia. I had the luck to get over there and walk the track earlier this year, and my what a great piece of road. So much history there, shame to see it ripped apart for housing. The bulldozers were already closing in, and on TV you can actually see them waiting to go in the background. Having said that, the place was starting to fall apart, Wanners looks like a brand new F1 circuit in comparison.

Do not read on for now if you dont want to know results!!

Good bye number 1 off Garth Tanders and welcome to 888 racing and Jamie Whincup!! Wooo yeah!! Hugely deserved, has had a brilliant season. Retribution for the last couple of years, were the team has gone oh so close.

that off camber corner exit onto pit straight at oran park is one of the best corners...so close to the wall, so easy to get out of shape.

i liked skaife, i don't feel he did much wrong. I remember in the mid 90's while it was still called touring cars, but after the group A days. When he was running his own privateer team at the back of the pack. And still used to finish in the points.

was going to say thanks for the awesome, often flaming crashes mr morris.

i actually liked skaife, a good driver over a long period, and always straight up with his opinions.

whincup deserved the win, bloody successful season where the best driver and team won.

Massive fail to Morris again, turning straight into Whincup- sure he won't be too badly missed.

Nice burnout from Whincup too, least he kept it on the track this time!

It's great to see Whincup win. With Bathurst 3 on the trot let's see if he can beat Ambrose's record of 2 consecutive wins!

Personally I'd love Lowndes to win too.
