Interesting reading...
Walkinshaw is a dog pingpingpingping, that is all.
He did it to Brock in the 80s, good to see history repeat.
While Im no fan of the big nosed muppet since he drives one of those lion badged things, he has given an incredible amount to the sport, and does not deserve this.

Agreed, don't think much of him on/off the track but no one deserves to lose everything!

LOL his own fault ...
"But the accounting systems changed under Walkinshaw and Skaife Sports found itself in massive debt. Instead of monthly costings he got a yearly bill which took him by surprise and he could not pay it."

everything that walkinshaw pingpingpingping touches turns to absolute shit. i too don't really rate skaife much and never really have but nobody deserves to be financially ruined especially when you've done nothing wrong. be interesting to see what happens when the general public get their hands on this bit of news
especially when you've done nothing wrong.
You obvioulsy missed the last line, allow me.
"But the accounting systems changed under Walkinshaw and Skaife Sports found itself in massive debt. Instead of monthly costings he got a yearly bill which took him by surprise and he could not pay it."
Which took him by surprise. Sorry, that translated means "we didnt get a bill, we kept the party going till the early hours".
You want to play, you have to pay. There is a saying in aus "Want to make a small fortune racing cars or bikes ? ... start with a large fortune, and a few seasons later it will be much smaller". Racing isnt cheap. For someone like Skaife to outsource all his racing support is plain flat out stupid, and what happens, he deserves.
Anyone that tells me Skaife is nieve and wouldnt know were to source or run a race team when he is HRT, but outsources to TWR .... oh please, that has to be a tax dodge that severly backfired.
All you TWR haters (oh im not standing up for him) need to comprehend, if you have a account at REPCO, Giant Nissan, national Aus Bank or TWR, when you use it, you must repay it. the fact he didnt get a monthly bill and then was dry means he consumed the money he had at the time, then couldnt pay.
This is basic GST / BAS structure if yoru self employed. Sorry , no sympathy.

Maybe if skaife got rid of his private toilet at the v8 rounds he could afford to pay.

Here, here.
I'm no fan of Schnoz but wouldn't want anyone to go down like that. Tom Walkinshaw is a fucking prick. Skaifey deserves better than that. He should do a Seton and defect to Ford hahaha
Get the feeling his retirement is more of a push then a choosen path?
Might also explains why the kellys are getting the fuck out and going alone?

Serious ?
Well think about it. Renting a house, facing finacial ruin.
Welcome to the real world Mr Skaife.

heard this on the radio on the way to work this morning, saying he had to sell his melbourne house to try pay off some debt and is still in the red. the amount the radio was talking about was around 4 mill... fuck that shit
He should take up a drive with another team, someone will still want him, he can still pedal ok.. and he can earn some money to pay off debts. How is he going to repay debts with no income?

its weird.
Skaife is a noob.
HRT knew it was going down thats why they sold it to Skaife. Skaife arrogantly thought he could pull it out of the shit. He was wrong now he is paying for his mistake.
He was already in trouble before walkinshaw screwed him.
That all said, still a sad thing to see to happen to anyone.
Between HRT going and fords turning front wheel drive. The writing is really on the wall for th end of the V8 super cars. Well at least as we know it.

V8 Supercar star Mark Skaife has agreed to relinquish ownership of the Holden Racing Team under a confidential deal which will clear him of what is understood to be a multi-million dollar debt.
Skaife will give up his interest to international motor racing magnate Tom Walkinshaw, who previously owned the outfit before relinquishing control to Holden when he ran into financial troubles of his own.
The two agreed on Monday for the Scot to assume immediate full ownership of HRT.

Simmo, HRT had to sell because the rulings on team ownership changed, and had he/someone else taken ownership they were finished.

Can't transfer any assets out once he's in financial trouble anyway, so too late for that...
