Hey guys i am chasing a cheap wire in ecu that i can put onto a Holden rodeo 2.6 tray back ute i am doing as a project.
I Have just dropped a tdo4-e turbo on a custom manifold that i made and full 2.5" exhaust.
I was told a hks fcon pro would do it but after buying one am told that i can't wire it in as no reference points/ trigger points.
So i have to sell a hks f.con pro with evo wiring look and buy a stand alone ecu.
Please help. then i can have my ute on the road.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
Pretty Please.
i know someone will have one. in the name of power and sideways funs.
might be easier/cheaper to use the stock ecu & emanage blue piggyback

Yeah well thats what i thought, and i was told that the hks fcon pro would work cos that is fuel and ignition computor that is completely tunable to whatever. if i could get the diagrams to wire that in it would be great. but took it to apc and they said they couldn't do it. what is the difference between the emanage and the fcon pro. they both piggy backs. to why would one work and the other one not.
ive used a emanage in my old evo 6. with a tune & a few more psi (it removed factory boost cut) i picked up 45hp atw.
quite a few places around town can tune them as well.
i was under the impression the only place in perth that can tune fcon was xspeed.
xspeeds web site has manuals/diagrams, maybe for your fcon?

If it's a project and you arent in a massive rush to get an ECU, I'll sell you my MegaSquirt for like $400 once it's out of the car.

for those that have said a piggy back. yes that is the way i originally wanted to go.
But the piggy back ecu's that are available are made for the Holden Rodeo ute's. Hence i have to go to stand alone ecu. the pick up point or reference points on a piggy back are made for specific cars.
The wire in ecu'a are more suitable because they are for litterally for any car. i have got a hks fcon pro which is pretty similar to the emanage in function. and can't fit it.
becuase the car is n/a i have had to make the extractors, the dump and the exhaust. the intercooler piping the lot.
The ute belongs to our very own test drivers brother. for those that don't know, Carl or pgh he is registered test driver. jammy git. anyway it is for his brother.
So come on help us. he wants his ute on the road.
Thank you all
Tell him to go a megasquirt then. Cheapest option by far.
Being holden , you might even be able to tune the standard ecu - cheapest option by far once again.

TJ tell me more on the megasquirts. are they any good? who tunes them?
Tuning the standerd ecu. or do you mean chipping.
And as it is n/a ecu running turbo would that work?
if you can reflash the ecu.. IF you can, then it doesnt matter what the ecu is designed for as the tuner will change every parameter on their to suit the turbo anyhow.
any tuner with a clue should be able to do a megasquirt.

cool. on the megasquirt. are they supposed to be any good?
Who would you approach to see if they can flash tune the ecu?

the emanage is a generic piggyback, yes you can buy specific plug&play looms for them but other then that all it does is just 'bend' the signals the original sensors transmit to the ecu.
i dont know what afm your car runs but emanage will work with most types, vane, hotwire or karmen vortex.
even if you cant control the stock injectors for some reason, you should still be able to map/control the ignition curve.
you could add an extra injector & get the emanage to run that independent of the stock ones.
find a tuner then find an ecu from there recomendations, no point buying an f con, megasquirt, emanage, wolf if they wont/cant/refuse to tune it.

DIY tune =)
Once I get my car back from the workshop and started again, you are welcome to come check the MS out and see how it works then make a choice from there.

Megasquirt's are commonly used by guys turboing these 2.6's or even the 2L isuzu motors in geminis etc.
We've got a 2.6 at home that's eventually copping similar to what you've done.
If you need some more info jump on some gemmy forums or something mate.

Hey agit8d.
what are you going to do to your 2.6? is it the isuzu engine.
what is it going into?.
Have you already got your manifolds and stuff.
Who is doing it for you?
Hope it goes well mate.
good luck.

G'day bud..
Yeah it's a petrol isuzu motor, got it just after a fresh recon, no lip on the bores or anything..
Just gonna put a set of pistons in it and throw a turbo on. My brother is making all the manifolds etc himself (he owns MetalCraft), probably make a new inlet manifold so the TB is at the front facing forwards.
It's going in his yellow [4A10SHN] gemini :)
Been put on the back burner for a while cause my car is taking up his 3 car garage doing my engine swap and once that's done he's got my LS1 to put into an S13.. Get around to it one day.
