Eagle rods? 1000hp? Ya reckon you'd rely on something like lunati to see figures like that...

Must come with free crackpipe.

Yeah wouldn't trust eagle gear at that HP but the manifold alone is worth 3k-5k.

I've got eagle gear in my motor but I sure as hell wouldn't have it if I was looking for 4 figures..

That manifold might be worth a shitload due to it being rare but I doubt even it would support those figures. Rob Vickey etc were running sheetmetal manifolds years and years ago with s/c cars for a reason, and only then was 1000hp being closely achievable.

$25k worth of rip off.

I too would also question the figures utilising the GRP A manifold.

I have never seen anyone push near that figure with that manifold. The closest off the top of my head would be HSVSS. It was pushing +800rwhp with its twin-turbo setup pushing more PSI than what is quoted in that ebay ad.

Even Eddie's 383 VH pushed in excess of 1000hp using a custom manifold.

yeah i doubt the power .. but its still a bit of a monster engine setup capable of some big numbers

What kind of boost was it running?

1000 hp at fly wheel more then likely. wheels... doubt it.

hasnt MR HDT cracked over 1000hp using Gp A manifold?

even 1000hp at the fly would be nice to drive around in, doubt very highly he will sell at that price though

I'm not sure what those above videos have to do with this 5L block making over 1000hp?!

We all know LS1/2 engines will do it, and have done for a long time.

This is a 383 from a 5L, using cheap middle of the range parts if that.

It would be good to know if Shane did any mods to his manifold when he made 960rwhp. It had plenty of boost with that t/t setup though, quite a monster of a car.

Again in English? :withstupi

I don't see anything wrong with my assumption that this manifold wouldn't take a motor to 4 figures. You seem to think I'm wrong though so enlighten us as you're all knowledgable, or maybe just big mouthed? :) Just wanted to type something for the sake of it no doubt :op:

scj91
12-11-2008, 03:23 PM
You're hook line and sinker, every time.

Never failing.
Yeah, there's nothing wrong with your 'assumption' but i just like how you doubt alot of things, instead of going fair play.

Shit thats decent power,i wonder if the manifold flows that much?

No hard feelings,i just thought i'd assume a few things that you knew a lot, since you were the first of everything and that.

and yeah,i just wanted to type something for the sake of it,and big mouthed, all of the above, got anymore for my resume'?

shanes manifold was std group a.. so yes the manifold can make 1000rwhp.. well it made 960 so close enough.

AGIT8D
12-11-2008, 04:03 PM
Haha my issues were with the claimed power to be made from the motor, not with the kid with the mouth.

As noted Shane used one of these and made big power. And apparently I shouldn't doubt anything, ever. It's not allowed. Especially on AL, where doubting is NOT ON. :)

some one correct me,but didnt jake edwards torry run around 700hp on just a9l rods??

AGIT8D
13-11-2008, 08:34 AM
Couldn't tell you, also can't see what the relation is to the above. Aren't VL turbo rods strong as also? Aren't 2J rods strong? The point I was making was that if I were building a motor to go into 1000hp I wouldn't choose Eagle rods, there are far better brands available. Seems viable to me.

matty12
13-11-2008, 11:19 AM
My point was that if he could get 700 odd hp with a9l rods (im also fairly sure it was a 2bolt mains standard crank etc)is see no reason why a better quality rod etc couldnt go further maybe 1000hp?

How long this 1000hp engine would hang in there for is anyones guess? There is always something just a little better than another brand.

Im not arguing any point really,as my experiance building 1000hp engine is zip,i just dont think there is a set guildline to say what will or wont work and i dont have the experiance to say. This guy is either bullshitting or they person respossible for the build beleived it would be ok.
