when i was in melbourne last year i went to some race day in mornington, and me being a n00b i was having a look through the different kinds of bets and all the odds and stuff seeing if i could get a bit of a clue about the whole thing,

and i saw that if you picked a trifecta, sometimes it pays like 2 grand or upwards.. so i picked my race and chose 3 horses,
and they came in 1, 2 and 3 and i was stoked thinking id just won like 10 grand or some shit but it turned out that it was the 3 favourites and only paid out like 30 bucks..

since then i havent bet on any horses lol,, only the melbourne cup day when everyone at work puts in like 10 bucks and you draw a horse out of the hat, winner takes all

Yep as RMX said thats the way they work. Dont have to fill in a card just pick em up and print. Its just a matter of getting 1, 2 ,3 in the right order. They normally put 2 front runners and a roughie in.

They Paout good too, for $1 its around a couple of grand, a workmate 2 years ago jagged it, he put a $5 on it and it came in, he walked away with around $5250. Weak pingpingpingping didnt even put on a carton.

I done a similar thing at Perth Cup.
I bet on the right horse, BUT the wrong race..
I felt like a complete tool when the others i was with found out what i done.
Was gonna throw ticket away but kept it just to see.
The horse i put 5bucks on won the race and i collected over 400 bucks.
