How much tread do you need to have on the tyres before they say no?
The RE55s I used on the weekend are above the road legal use wear markers, but only a bee's dick above. Would I get away with it on Thursday? If so, I will probably be in as well.

They'll be fine for that.
Just keep using them until you see canvas
Yeah you'll be fine. Last time out mine were virtually slicks.
Edit- just be careful if its a wet night :)

Rocked up last minute for a few laps.
Thought the track was pretty slippery, couldn't break high 56's.
The drizzle didn't help. Good night tho.
Yeah agree, i managed 56.3 or something which is a good half second slower than last time. And too many gooses putting themselves in the fast lane then not letting you past, despite the fact your glued to their ass for 3/4 of the lap.

And too many gooses putting themselves in the fast lane then not letting you past, despite the fact your glued to their ass for 3/4 of the lap.
No shit.
For some reason someone would cut in front of the fast lane, only to be overtaken by every car on the first lap, and others would be slow through the corners, then floor it on the straights so unless you were right up their ass on the last corner you couldn't pass them.
bjohnson
07-11-2008, 09:33 AM
They were in the slow lane too.
Was held up epically on 3 runs.
Spent 2 entire laps glued to the back of one of the accords, still wouldn't let me past.
The two subaru's even had instructors in the car and still weren't waving people through.
Good night though!

Its not a race against others mate. Its a race against yourself and the clock. haha
I'll hopefully be out there next month in my shitter. So you can chop me .
Here is the list of cars from last night. Sure there are some quick cars, plenty that are not really track type cars though. I'm sure the slower cars are enjoying themselves just as much as the quick guys too!

The Mirage is an IP race car, I think it was one of the instructors cars, he bought it out for some laps at the end of the night.
The Civic is Sena's car, it's an FN2 (new model) and has EPIC mods.

wasnt a bad night. concidering how slippery it was im happy that i beat my pb again. But my god there are some pricks out there that hold you up all night. Just beacause they have big power doesnt make them fast. You would be right up their ass through braking and cornering but u couldnt overtake them on the straight cause i had stuff all power.

the heat cycling ruins them too, found this out with my old a032r's
people complaining about slow people in the fast line..
I think part of the problem is that the slow line always seems to be longer, and you get more runs if you line up in the fast line..
I got 5 runs all night in the slow lane... which isnt that many really for a whole night at wanneroo....

Well you say that, but I was in the "fast" lane all night, and got 5 runs.
To put things in perspective, you're paying $150. You get 15 laps MINIMUM, sometimes 25-30 depending on how many people are there.
Sprint series, you pay near on $100, for 4 laps total of AHG.
The No Limits nights are a really cheap way of competing in timed motorsport.
If you don't care about times, then go to a tuning day. For $60 or so you'll get a lot more laps in.

I know on the bikes, you have to use your own lap timer, or you don't get any times at all for the Racecraft days (they aren't supplied like they are at no limits). Do you know if you can do the same for the tuning sessions? Only cost a couple of hunj, so could save you money in the long run.

Yes, a lot of the boys use Performance Boxes (Get one here -> http://www.antilag.com/forums/showthread.php?p=347071#post347071).
Put that in your car, and no only does it record your times (very accurately), it also GPS logs the lines you take, so you can review whats fastest, and graphically map them against each other on your computer.
It really is an awesome piece of kit.

What gave you that impression?
Like cochee_15 said, I was just making a point that not everyone is in a race car (myself included).
Respect to anyone that takes their car to the track.
PS. While you're bringing up times, I'm still ahead of you on the leaderboard!

Funnily enough it was two WRX's.

It's technically not a slow lane, that left lane is for people that still need instructors. Once the instructor takes your sticker off, find cars in the fast lane that you're around the pace of, and slot in.
Actually the right hand lane is for drivers that have FAST cars... ( just a side note... if you have 450HP but can only use it on the two straights your car ISNT A FAST CAR :hammer: ;) ) basically its for guys running sub 60's and for those that are experienced. we have no problem putting a slower car in the right lane if they know how to drive and they can obey common courtesies like moving the F*#k over when a car is up your ass.
The 2 WRX's that were holding people up i appologise for... i tried and tried all night to make them get it... but they just didnt. and unfortunately you cant make them unless your sitting in the car and generally driving it for them.
so yea... we try to group cars as much as we can but it depends on how many people we have and how busy we are... We are always looking to make the events run smoother and easier... and feedback good or bad is always appreciated.
Jai- you guys do a pretty good job of running things, glad you do. If it wasn't for No Limits there would be pretty much SFA events for 6 months of the year.
I tend to find if i'm up the arse of the guy in front, next time we line up i just ask if i can go in front, so he doesn't have high beam in his face for 3 laps :)and so i can get a clear run. Nearly everyone is happy to do that- pretty easy to sort out generally.
bjohnson
14-11-2008, 09:51 AM
I agree with BAS,
It's a great event and it runs pretty smoothly.
The next time out I did ask one of the WRX drivers if I could line up ahead of him and he didn't mind at all.
The problem is pretty exaggerated for me as I'm lacking any real shove on the straights, so even when cars wave me through, it's hard to get past them in time.
