Get a few out and their opionon and go for the mortgage yourself, best way as most brokers, like 99.99% are all liers and your paperwork takes twice as long as the lender has to fix the brokers fuck up's.
Rams or ING give the best mortgages with Customer service imho though without the bullshit fee's etc

We went through Wizard when we bought our house.
The guy we dealt with was great. He came to our house to discuss our application out of business hours.
Since we were first home buyers, he explained everything to us in regards to fee's and how the proccess works etc.
He also worked out the best deal for us with a Settlement agent he uses.
All in all he wasn't just trying to screw us out of money, he was genuinely helpful.
I always use a broker as they are paid to get you a loan. The banks do not give a shit and will protect their own ass and will not help you to 'bend' the rules if required.
I have had 6 separate mortgages (commercial property, residential rental, and owner occupied) and i always use Todd Hafner from Mortgage Choice 0418 949 698. I think he has been in the business for about 15 years now.

I used Mortgage Choice twice, 2 different guys but I was really happy with their service.
Guy I dealt with last time was Roger Fenwick. Really good bloke and got me a good deal when i had to refinance to pay out the ex through Commonwealth/colonial.
His number is (08) 9259 6000 or Mortgage Choice themselves are 13 66 78

Haven't had too many bad experiences with brokers (had 3 mortgages already). Tried going to a bank direct once, and they were very useless and unhelpful. Brokers have up to date info on all mortgages available from all banks, and they differ LOTS! You will always get the best deal through a broker.
Perhaps one broker I need to recommend you stay away from is Opes Smart Money in West Perth, although I think they changed their name since. Either way, if Ian Mellote works there, run away as fast as you can. Came to within inches of getting royally fucked over by this pingpingpingping!

Good news, reserve bank cut interest rates by 1% so dont get a fixed loan (if thats what you were planning) until the banks pass on the cut to us (if they cant find an excuse not to).
nah current one is variable & new one will be aswell. can pay double+ payments that way.
good to see westpac pass on 0.8% cut as well

+1 for AUSSIE, they are a proper morgage broker that deal with the real deal, not just dodgy GE finance. They arent going to lie and scam $$$, its a big business.
