Vl Turbo - Genuine Calais, with some mods

1987 vl calais

rb20det conversion
front mount with stainless steel piping
2.5 exhuast with dumpy tip
bov
turbo timer
rb25 exedy 5 puck clutch and flywheel. (comes with spare clutch and flywheel)
17inch wheels
lowered
pionner mp3/wma deck with custom door pods with speakers

and ofcourse all the calais options - electric windows/mirrors,central locking, better interior/dash and the cosmetic exterior.

car has some cons:
body needs some attention, no dents and the paint isnt faded, just some rust is starting to shine through, not bubbly, just starting to come throught the paint, - looks good from far, but upclose can see it.

dash works only when it wants to and the deck isnt hooked up - probably just dodgy wires fixed up for the dash.

car will be getting serviced this week. good car, runs well, and is great for someone not wanting to spend 10,000 on a vl calais.

looking at 6000 ono. good think about these cars, the money you spend on them you tend to get back, a rare thing with modifying cars.

the pics are up, can see how nice and clean the interior is, and the paint isnt that bad - but in person you can see the blemishes.
forgot to add one of the eyelids has came off so it sits in my back seat, tried to sit on there for cosmetic side of things. - im guessing an easy fix to put it back on.





needs to sell, i think im going to go back and finish off my supra

i looked at this car in joondalup a few weeks ago did u just buy it? the tags show its not a turbo even has standard brakes??

im not sure about the brakes, i dont know much about vl's. I did do the check though and i know its a genuine calais. ...i havent had this long, i have just recently done the clutch and service as was planning on keeping it as a daily. things have changed and now i'd rather sell... though if i dont get a decent amount then i dont mind keeping it as the daily spec.

genuine Calais NA with RB20DET conversion.

These things (VL Calais) are pretty sort after now, shouldnt have any trouble getting rid of it.

oh so the clutch was dead? i was gonna buy it off that guy but it shat oil everywhere in the engine bay when i drove so be carefull dude

well i thought was the clutch...ended up just being the pushrod too long (doh!), the reason oil was everywhere was becuase the breather hole was open - hence alot of blow by

car is now sold anyways. matty was close....some dude in bunbury bought it haha...gotta love the "vl calais" stigma
