Hey all, hit a pot hole the other day, this is the result, pretty harsh, but do you guys reckon its too bad to just leave there? Should i get it fixed in the name of function? coz im not fussed with it there if it wont let air out or anything.

Thanks

+1 for getting it fixed asap, PROFESSIONALLY

happened to a mate jusasix, hit curb and did exact same to yourself, leaked slowly, he used a sledge hammer to hit it back into place and it just fucked it

if your careful and have some mech sympathy, blow the tyre up to 50psi, and use a rubber mallet to get it back into shape, take your time.

China rims? Might be cheaper to replace one rim than to fix it.

Take it to Allied Wheel repair or Briffa Engineering, both in Malaga... or Gommer as above.

Avanti's powder coated black. Not sure where to find another like them, unless like you said i can get china copies.

Thanks for the feedback. Anychance there may be a rim repairer in Bunbury?

I think Joe was pointing out that Advanti are china

Leo sold on to a new crew they reall really munted a VR LMGT4 LTD ED wheel of mine then sprayed it with a spray can

I think we are left with Briffa and Alliance

Ok before anything else i'll give that a go, but its going to need a hell of a beating from a rubber mallet.

Something is better than nothing anyway. Chasing down some new rims soon anyway just doing my homework +D

I had some slightly worse rim damage a while back and after going to various workshops it worked out far cheaper to buy a new rim (apparently they had to melt and respray the alloy taking the cost over $250)

If you can find a new rim may save you a lot of hassle...unless of course the rubber mallet works :fingers:

fuck melting it, i would not drive on that again.... would totally ruin the strength of the wheel..

also buy a LARGE mallet, not a poxy bunnings job, or you will indeed be there all day...

id be trying to stick it in a vice or something - thats if your going to take the backyard approach.

agree with bart - cant see a rubber mallet doing much - a hard plastic 1 on the other hand

saying all that - ive never attempted to remove a buckle in a rim like this

if u have a hydrolic press could also put bit of wood ofer it and push it back into shape

+1 for Briffa...

Mick is a good bloke and does good work!

you need to relax the alloy with heat before you go reshaping it
If you go beating it senselessly dont be surprised if it cracks

In other words, get someone who knows what they're doing, to fix it.
