There is a purple 32 GTR for sale at the moment that i am intrested in but the low price it was bought for 3 months ago by current young owner has me a lil skeptical.
I have heard a few storys about the car nothin definate tho and they are mostly net rumours no doubt.
If any1 knows anythin about this car can u please pm me, i am 50/50 on it at the mo as car is either a bargain or its gonna cause me dramas and thats the last thing i want.

Not tryin to spoil the sellers sale but i figured this would b best way to find out about cars history.

cheers mike

id be a little cautious about buying a stock engined 15yo+ GTR. As others will surely tell you, MOST of them are a time bomb waiting to explode.

On the surface that car in question looks like a great buy, but remember to have a spare $5K in the bank if the old girl kicks a leg out of bed or something....

Hence why i am a lil cautious and havent jumped straight into buyin car like i usually do. The owner has told me car was checked over by import 101 and given a good tick of health.

Car can be 100% perfect, doesn't mean the 26 wont pop the next time you start it up.

100,000km+ GTR = ticking time bomb. DO NOT KID YOURSELF.

Buy that car, IF and only if you can afford to build a motor for it.

build motor then save for gearbox, diff, transfer case..etc

every car has its fair share of problems
gtr's just have more of them

it's my car in the question..
And actually, the car hasn't had a hard life at all with me driving it... your mate (morgan i'm assuming, the guy who owned a vtec CRX who said it was quicker then my old silvia, my mates 300HP R33, then yeah he knows his shit:wank: ) has never seen this car out nor have i driven it how it should be being to scared to brake something.

And just a question, what's wrong with Imports101..

Also mike, I'm sure you can ask the previous owner revs210 on here or sau about the history of the car..

Thanks

Mirz

Cars in general cost money.
GTR's cost money.

If you can't afford one, don't buy one.

I have personally seen this car IRL, and I thought it was a good example of a GTR for its price. GTR's are GTR's, most people should know what can go wrong, but fuck, lets be positive and think how much enjoyment you can get out of one ?

From what I understood, the previous owner actually looked after the car really well.

But yes, every GTR is a risk, especially a 32. As long as your willing to accept the risk then go for it.

And id rather a RAC report then an 101 report :)

Its a nice looking car, and like I said from what I know its been looked after.

If I could afford to own a GTR properly I would :)

I heard eBay Motors is about to shut down, no need to run an expensive online auction site when TJ buys all the cars anyway!

Carsales.com.au is about to follow suit.

wouldnt a comp/leakdown test show how the engines health?

heres an epic thread on imports101s work
http://www.supraforums.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=28197&page=16

inshort, guy goes in with a NA auto supra asking for a turbo conversion
cheap parts were used, never advised the gearbox/diff would shit itself past 400rwhp
12k later engine blows after a couple of weeks, tune is contracted out to Top racing. Ask for a quote to rebuild never got a reply
Goes to C-red gets it rebuilt and now a happy chap

would this not be Top Racing's problem and not 101's problem seeing as though Top Racing tuned the car?

i don't know *shrugs* lol

Well i believe the reason for the engine dieing was due to leaning out
to much timing no enuff fuel

if you read through the thread, both mechanical work carried out + tune wasnt the best work... id say its both there fault

Brockas
25-08-2008, 08:23 PM
LOL!!!

Too much timing? Steve Thomas tuning? no way!!!

Why do people not listen??

From what I have seen imports 101 isn't to bad, I have had a few mates import cars from them and they have been pretty good...Unlike fucken J-spec.

Its pretty hard to find an import that hasn't had a hard life, the 90's turbo cars are getting pretty old now, and honestly who buys a GTR to drive it easy?

Also, Jap's don't really like to change there oil either.

Hey Bud,

There a great car to have if you don't start chasing 400+ hp and drive her like an gorilla on wheels then it becomes a asshole raping with the gearbox, factory turbo's, factory motor, factory clutch and the rest of the factory parts will be looking for repairs and upgrades.

But, there killer fun and its worth it. IMO.

In regards to that cheaper car, maybe its better to get that cheap because if you'll find that most 32R's need a rebuild so you might save some cash in the long run.

Sleekman
26-08-2008, 04:02 PM
Well Top racing is imports101 prefered tuner
The said supra owner didnt know who it was going to

monga's got a good point, buy a cheaper one then use the money saved to bomb out the engine when it blows

RAC/Auto Inspection is prolly the best to see if the cars had any repair damage/mechanical problems
