View Full Version : Taking photos on cruises - whats the go?

Well I didn't take the camera out last night, but after seeing the cars that were there I was spewing I didn't.

My question is, what are everyones thoughts on photos on cruises. Go for it or what?

No "action" shots would be getting taken as it's hard to do while driving, any number plates would be blurred out if posted up anywhere, and of course if the owner of said cars asked for no pics to be taken then thats fine as well. (and any previous pics of said car deleted)

Thoughts???

i reckon cameras only bring grief
ur not going to be asked to appear in the fast and furious VI because the producer stumbled upon an action pic of your car from a cruise on myspace.

if anything will end up in court with car being taken away and a 1 month bus pass

8 years ago filming was fine, times have changed

Point very well taken and understood... (have previously been in trouble myself due to an incriminating photo or two...) Anyone else with an opinion???

One thing also though, and I hope it doesnt come across in the wrong way, is that pretty much all of the pics would go into my own collection. A couple may get posted up here in the photography section if I was happy with them, and thought of them as being "worthy, blah blah", but other than that its a case of , if you dont mind them posted I will, or if you wanted copies for yourself... if not they stay away from the interwebs prying eyes.

You can read this as a sob story or whatever, I really dont care, but I enjoy taking pics of cars, and would like to further my skills in the area, and if the only chance I get is the odd cruise here and there (damned work commitments), then I would like to be able to take that chance. Simple pics to show of the beauty of the car itself. No more, no less. BUT if there are objections then the camera stays packed up. Simple.

Cheers
Shane.

Pics FTW imo.
You have the basic rules down.

As long as the basic rules are applied then I don't see a problem.

At least then if you're trying to explain to someone what a certain car looks like (eg: X car with Y bodykit and Z rims), pictures make it so much easier.

i'd say taking photos is fine just no flash in peoples eyes at night while they are trying to drive, thats asking for a punch in the face

I agree, nothing wrong with photographing cars at stops.
I think having a camera flash go off at night is rude and distracting, but I don't see any problem with driving shots, providing you're not the one driving and also that there isn't any questionable behaviour.

At meet points I see no issue unless someone asks you not to, in which delete the pic, and move on. Easy.
