Im looking for Something i can use to warn me about low oil pressure, it has to be bright enough to see in the day, and has to have a surround so it doesnt look like its on when the sun shines on it.

i wont have time to look at a gauge, so dont suggest that :) i was thinking a shiftlight or similar to hook up to a pressure switch (like a hobbs switch) to turn it on...

ideas?

how about wire up a Peizo speaker with a single pole switch.
so you can really hear the warning, and then flick off the speaker so you dont go deaf

I remember Ant's GTR (ND4SPD) used to have 8 shift lights on the dash hooked up to indicate different warnings.

If one came on, shut it off.

Might want to look at something like that.

Defi also make something similar to this I believe, although I haven't looked into it.

Good idea, audio rather than visual will be a lot harder to miss.

helmets + intercoms make that a little hard.

good idea though :)

im just careful as ive already done a bottom end from lower than normal oil pressure :dunno:

they would have been the defi warning lights he had.
they simply plug into the back of the gauge and the warning is set via the controll unit.

the gauge pressure sender has a 2nd plug for a warning light, it just connects the earth at below 15 pounds or there about. Cut out alot of work. VDO make them :)
