I just had the Cams inspector around to go through my vehicle in order to get the log book and sort it out for a B Class Registration.
In a nutshell, he advised that unless the vehicle is built now Fully to a rally vehicle specifications, and competes a minimun of 1 gravel rally a year, they will no longer B Class register the vehicles. If you don't compete in one rally they will remove the license.
He then went through the things that have to be done in order to make the vehicle pass through different cams events, and it seems my EVO 3 was a bad choice for targa events because basically the vehicle has to be converted back to nearly stock on everything in order to do Targa West.
So I can't get it road licensed being EVO 3, can't get it B Class licensed, and if I was even able to get it road licensed, the mods required for Targa in relation to roll cage etc would then make it illegal on the road anyway.
Talk about really making it difficult to have a vehicle to do these type of events. The rep was saying how many vehicles that used to compete are now illegal to compete in some of these events and that he has had many unhappy people in the last year who have found out the hard way on these rules.
Bit disappointed as it has certainly shelved many of my plans for some upcoming events.
Anyway main thing is to let others know, before you even buy a car that you plan on getting B Class Registered, do some more research first because at this moment, its basically not really an option for a road going vehicle any more.
