Any aircon techs?

Got an LG Neo Plasma split system that works fine on COLD but when you select HEAT the DEFROST light comes on and stays on forever with nothing coming out. Have turned it off and on, lowered temp, raised temp, switched off at the mains and ran the self test which brought up a CH5 code which I discovered to be a communication fault between inside and outside unit but it works fine on COLD still.

It used to work fine on HEAT and recently shit itself. its always flashed the CH5 code intermittently since new and hasnt seemed to affect anyhting.

From what I can tell when you run it on heat the lines frost up for some reason and it should only defrost for 5-10 mins according to the manual. Ive let it be for hours and nothing happens.

Is there an easy fix?

P.S. Tech is coming out Monday but Im farking freezing at night !!

Sounds like thermostat problem.

the defrost sensor has probably shat it self or come off the board, might be as simple as clicking it back in..

ill search through my lg notes and see what i can find for ya
