cause the radar can measures the speed of the rain as its blown by the wind :)
"they are also able to measure the speed of movement of the reflecting particle as well. Generally as precipitation falls it moves with the wind, so the Doppler radar can measure this movement and provide wind information as well as rainfall intensity. This gives more information and a better understanding of current weather to the radar data user."

I cant see indicated rain/wind speed anywhere on that page?
i didnt say they displayed wind speed

yeah they also use it measure the speed & composition of stars

Indeed! As a wave is reflected off a moving object it experiences a frequency shift. The size of that shift can be used to determine the speed of the object it hit.
Doppler shift is the same reason why an exhaust note can sound monotone as it's driving away from you, yet inside the car sounds like it's getting higher pitched.

Im well aware of that, I was asking why he posted an image of rain radar when the thread topic was wind warning. Heavy rain is not an indication of high winds.

heavy rain as detected by radar can be used for an indication of high winds
cause the radar can measures the speed of the rain as its blown by the wind :)

So unless you keep refreshing that page and noticing how fast the colours move over time on the map, you won't know how fast the rain moves just by having one glance at it...

Never mind using the rain radar to work out how to determine wind speed and direction.

What Ive said a few times and you fail to understand is you cant see wind speed from the link that was posted (ie rain radar page).
Understand?
i never said WE could see wind speed from that radar page but i showed to you how THEY can get wind warnings from the doppler radar.
which is what i quoted you for & explained in the first place, when you said "How do you get wind warning from a rain radar hahaha"
& dont say aww they dont have it on the page, cause thats irrelevant to the fact that yes they can get wind warnings from doppler radar, which is what you didnt understand.

Do I really have to explain it to you?
Are you really that stupid?
Are you that dumb that you cant see that I was saying you couldnt see wind speed from the page that was posted?
Because im sure everyone else understood what I was saying.
Or is it you just want to be an argumentative pingpingpingping?
This was a simple light hearted thread that you had to turn into an arguement. If you keep this shit up you will get a holiday from the forums for a while, thats a guarantee.

Actually Ricey to be honest you can see wind speed on that page, If you tick one of the little boxes down the bottom it gives you wind direction and speed at various locations on the same radar map. Along with temperatures and total rain fall for the day....

How do you get wind warning from a rain radar hahaha
ive allready explained yes you can, i know it doesent have it displayed on that page & i never said it was. It does say on that site that yes you can get wind warning information from doppler radar which goes against your post which i quoted.
you are the one that wont admit it & have have resorted to name calling. I have kept it light hearted.
by you quote above you inferred radar couldnt be used to gauge wind speed.
i have showed you it can (it says so on there site in the quote i provided).
you dont seem to want to agree with that & instead keep saying that speed is not diaplayed on that page which is not what you wrote in your post i quoted & which i never argued with anyway.

And I even agreed that radar could be used to measure wind speed.

Well you interpreted it incorrectly. And when I later stated I agreed radar could be used to measure wind speed you still insisted on carrying on the arguement even though it had become clear you had interpreted it wrong.
Now back on topic.
