Awsome comedian, I was actually introduced to him by listening to tool, there are quite a few clips of him in their songs.

Never will there be a comedian who surpasses the greatness of BILL HICKS!

A legend. One of my greatest idols... Bit of useless trivia:

He and Maynard (Tool's singer) met each other in the late 80's/early 90's (before Tool was formed), at local comedy clubs. Maynard was, and probably still is a big fan of stand up. Anyways, after forming Tool, he kept in contact with Bill and even got him to open some shows early on in their career. One of the most famous gags was Bill convincing a festival crowd of maybe 10000 people or so to 'look around on the ground and help him find a contact lens he lost earlier on'. Thousands complied. Maynard thought it was the funniest thing ever, and this was repeated on various stages of the tour haha.

The song Aenema contains these lyrics:

"Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away
Any fucking time, any fucking day
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay"

It actually refers to Bill Hicks utter distaste, and hatred for Los Angeles, that he expresses in one of his rants titled 'Goodbye you lizard scum', from the album Arizona Bay. It implies that IF LA were to be flushed away by say an earthquake or tidal wave, The state of Arizona will then be the edge of the continent. Hence 'Arizona bay' haha. Funnnnny stuff.

There is also a limited edition of Tool's Aenema cd, that features a photo of Bill on the inner cd jacket sleeve. Anyways RIP Bill Hicks, you are definitely missed.
