To be honest, before I watched it I thought to myself a r35 is a big big car to be touge racing.

Wtf...

I also found this yesterday when doing some browsing.

Typed in "Touge" @ youtube, first hit.

i was discussing with Josh, driver and luke (hipsi) how the r35 just freight trained through corner exits...

Fucking spun me out for a second there...

Hahaha settle down - highly modified RX7 versus a car with brake pads, exhaust, rom and steering wheel.

But heres the big kicker - the RX7 is on R-comps, the MCR GTR isnt. Love to see it re run with the RX7 on normal tyres ;)

Near on stock Gtr, couple hundred kg's heavier...

you can pick it exactly on the dime... as soon as the 35 passes the apex... FUCKING BANG!... it just goes and goes.

35 ftw there.

LOL could make a 1940's Fiat faster around a track than a GTR if you replace every component, doesn't makes it a superior design.

Suspension different maybe? I can see an F14 and R12, but cant read the rest obviously :(
**edit** watched the other video of them test driving and saw them mention ZEAL function?
ARC exhaust actually makes a decent sound too :)
To correct as well it has Endless 6-pot brakes that are the same as the ones used on the Endless GT300 car..mmmm
Before everyone sings the high praises of either car need to take into account the GT-R has more power, but is heavier, the GT-R has AWD vs the RX-7's RWD. The GT-R is also 15 years newer than the RX-7 however the RX-7 has been modified more extensively. The pro's and con's seem to balance each other out fairly well, one of the biggest things i noticed was how much work he was putting into keeping control of the RX-7 versus how effortless the GT-R was to drive.

**edit** found a good bit of info on the MCR GT-R here:

http://gtr-world.net/en_r35gtr-special/performance_tuning/mcr-nissan-r35-gtr-testdrive.html

Good to see the modifiers are really making some head way with the new GT-R, cant wait to see what Mines and Top Secret achieve with it! :D

go the chooky

they love their octane boost

Fryman

talking to amemiya san a while back ask him "how do you run so much boost" points to the shelf only english writing in the whole place "octane boost"

not comparable. but clearly the rx7 is the better choice for touge.

450kg owns 70hp, but not by as much as you'd think
mazda definately needs to get back on the bandwagon and bring back a bombed rx7 to compete with the lfa nsx and gtr

i think it was more pointing out advantages the gtr has
its not as an unfair fight as it may first seem...

and yes, you can make anything good, BUT mazda got it right.
lightweight, great motor, great balance so i would say the 15 year old design is spot on.

bigger kicker, GTR is awd with tc abs ect, RX7 is rwd with no tc abs ect..

but in the end they are both great cars with the RX7 more suited to the race shown in the video. there is no questions about that
