Hey guys was installing my dvd player today and remembered that ages ago i bought a dc-ac adaptor and also have a old xbox lying around so thought I'd try and hook it up.

Got all the cables in the back of the head unit and hooked to xbox to the power covertor which was a cigarette lighter type. I didn't want to hardwire it because I wasn't sure how safe it would be.

At first it worked and the xbox lit up green for a second and then dyed and still nothing. xbox still works in the house and the power convertor still works. The green light on the convertor dies as soon as I plug the xbox in and turn the power on. I take it that the xbox is trying to draw to much power from the convertor?

I'd say its overdrawing. You'd probably need a 300-400W Inverter.

From memory this website is pretty good for those kinds of questions: http://www.mp3car.com/
