Problems

Gday guys, looking for some advice with my soarer. Not sure if ive got 2 problems or its the same problem, basically the fuse for the radio/hazards blows whenever the high beams are flicked on, so I got no radio and no hazards.

Now the second part of my problem is that whenever the headlights are just turned on my right indicator is stuck as a solid light, doesn’t flick or anything, and it only happens after I reach full lock on the steering and often turns off when I turn left, so im thinking something’s wrong with the auto release but why would it be a solid yellow and not blink ?

Now with the highbeam/fusebox problem the high beams were removed from the car before I purchased it and the wires for them are kinda hanging freely.

Anyway I don’t really have much experience with auto electrics, so any ideas as to what I can do to fix it or is it best to call up an auto sparky?

Sounds like wires in your steering column are shorting out.

Take the covers off and look for any exposed wires or burn marks.

Also the high beam wires need to be taped up with electrical tape so they cant contact any metal around them.

as mentioned, if you're not confident with wiring get a sparky to do it, it may cost you a few bob but at least that way you're not going to make it worse

Thats a headache, im good at wiring and even id hand that to a sparky!

Cheers guys, i replaced the fuse and found 2 wires without electricle tape on them, taped them up and it hasnt re accured yet :S so yeah....lol

But if it happens again def taking it to a sparky.
