2Pac will probably bring a new album out soon too!

Joe
19-05-2008, 03:47 PM
I heard 2Pac's cousin 1Pac is releasing an album....they call him that because he lost one of his nuts in a drive-by shooting.

TJ
19-05-2008, 03:49 PM
Im sure Suge Knight will release some previously lost in the archives songs to milk another dollar from his name

Joe
19-05-2008, 03:55 PM
Yeah 2Pac had PLENTY of post-humous material...compared to Notorious B.I.G., who hardly had any (and thus the reason you've not heard too much "unreleased" stuff)

20. Cycle of Dre ft. Eminem

Thats not shabby.

Cant blame the man for waiting 8 years to get his time right... you can imagine given who he is... releasing an album these days has to be fairly calculated when it comes to dates.

Yeh 2pac has another release... titled "Not Alive"... you probably didn't hear about it... back in 1994...

Dave Chapelle/Tupac Lyrics

"Dave Chappelle Show: New Tupac Skit"

Listen close, as life turns its pages
Makeveli here, kickin rhymes for the ages
see things is changin, wives, work, smokin by sages
from skytell to blackberry pagas!
yo crew dont phase us, well make you bustas pay us
run up in yo spot like CJ from San Andreas.

I wrote this song a long time
a real long time ago FEEL ME!
i wrote this song a long time ago
it was the dopest song i ever wrote in 94

now what can a nigga do..
when half the people voted for george W.
Listen close, George W. cant be true
im gunna choke him, cause hes a snitch
Im talkin bout george w smith
from city council, he ran in 93
out in oakland, you probably didnt hear about him.

I wrote this song a long time ago
a real long time ago
way before slim shady was in demand
way before we dropped bolony on afghanistan
i wrote this song in 94!

how am i doin this?!?!
look around the club
see everyone in the place
showin pac love
and a smile on my face
the girl in the mini skirt has bad taste
cause that shirt dont match
and theres a puddin stain on the back
what the fuck is that?!
it might be dooo doooo!
and you in the back you ain't the shit,
you bought a gin a tonic but u didnt even tip
and if u hit this table one more time
then the record might skip *record skips* might skip
i told you...stop hittin the table.

Tupac is ova. I wrote this crap in 1994.
IM NOT ALIVE!
THUG LIFE!
dave chappelle, that aint yo wife.
you better leave, you have 2 kids
GO HOOOOOMMMEE!!!
i wrote this song a long time ago
a real long time ago
way before beanie seigel had to do a bid
way before dave chappelle had 2 kids
you aint gettin no coochy.
DJ: rest in peace
OKAY I WILL!

C.R.E.A.M. is fucking DOPE. I remember crankin that shit up on my Sony Discman when I was like 15, and then later on when I got my first car and my first sub woofer....so fuckin awesome

I grew up on the crime side, the New York Times side
Staying alive was no jive
At second hands, moms bounced on old men
So then we moved to Shaolin land
A young youth, yo rockin the gold tooth, 'Lo goose
Only way, I begin to gee off was drug loot
And let's start it like this son, rollin with this one
And that one, pullin out gats for fun
But it was just a dream for the teen, who was a fiend
Started smokin woolies at sixteen
And running up in gates, and doing hits for high stakes
Making my way on fire escapes
No question I would speed, for cracks and weed
The combination made my eyes bleed
No question I would flow off, and try to get the dough all
Sticking up white boys in ball courts
My life got no better, same damn 'Lo sweater
Times is ruff and tuff like leather
Figured out I went the wrong route
So I got with a sick ass click and went all out
Catchin keys from across seas
Rollin in MPV's, every week we made forty G's
Yo nigga respect mine, or anger the tech nine
Ch-chick-POW! Move from the gate now

Joe
20-05-2008, 12:07 PM
Oh and although Wu, Eazy and all the other old school artists are awesome, nothing....NOTHING, comes close to Notorious B.I.G.

I'll throw it out there now, I'm probably the biggest Biggie Smalls fan on this entire forum.

One of my fav lines ..from a Tupac and Biggie live freestyle back in '95.

When it comes to sex, I'm similar to the thriller in Manila
Honeys call me Bigga the condom filler
Whether it's stiff tongue or stiff dick
Biggie squeeze it to make shit fit, now check this shit
I got the pack of Rough Riders in the back of the Pathfinder
You know the ep along by James Todd Smith
I get swift with the lyrical gift
Hit you with the dick, make your kidneys shift

best verse ever

[Warren G]
1, 2 buckle my shoe,
3, 4 we gotta hit the store,
5, 6 back in the mix,
7, 8 Warren G and Nate,

[Nate Dogg]
Bang to the boogy say up jump the boogy
to the rhythm of the boogidy beat
I dont love no hoes they know so they don't be fuckin wit me

[Warren G]
A long time ago I met Annie Mae
she was killing me softly like everyday
penetentiary steel, was stickin for real
blockbustin through the walls
now I'm makin housecalls

[Nate Dogg]
I thought I'd met a lot of scandalous women, and then I met Annie Mae
Got a thin big butt like steel
But she didn't have a place to stay

[Warren G]
She was shackin at mine and shackin at his
blowin my socks, tellin his biz
Nate Dogg this and Nate Dogg that
213 skirt, and we stay intact
So I told the homey Nate don't be mislead
ain't no fun if the homey can't shake a leg
so I went to the house and knocked on the door
and guess who it was, Annie Mae you H-O

[Chorus]
I once knew a trick named Annie Mae (Annie Mae)
(I once met a bitch named Annie Mae)
I once knew a trick named Annie Mae (Annie Mae)
I once knew a trick named Annie Mae

[Nate Dogg]
Remember yesterday I asked you baby have I seen you somewhere before
with just one look, the pussy was took
cuz I make music that you adore
Now I'm not sure and I might be trippin
but in 94 I heard a song
it ain't no fun unless the homeys can come
so Warren G put a condom on

[Warren G]
Now Nate you know me and I know you
I got rubbers, gin and socco(?) too
so lets do the do, on how we do,
never my boot, just a freak that I knew

[Chorus]

[Warren G]
Annie Mae, Annie Mae, you ran out of time
Warren G and Nate Dogg blew your mind
cuz if you trickin wit him
you trickin wit me, you trickin wit the 2 1 muthafuckin 3
I came from rags to riches
trustin no snitches
thats how we do on 9 C I X bitches
buck em, fuck em, and put em in the trash
and jump in the 600 Benz and dash

[Nate Dogg]
Hold up Warren before you go just a couple things I got to say
Are you goin home, I wanna be alone
You need to take this... home

Nate Dogg - best colobarating artist - I "bought" his albums - he is average alone.

Get Nate, Snoop, X all together and nothing beats it :D

P.S. just to throw fuel on the fire, none of the hip hop we're referring to is officially "old school"...thats anything before 1986 i.e. Sugarhill Gang, Kurtis Blow, Melle Mel and Grandmaster Flash.

What we listen to is the "Golden Age" i.e. 87-92 and the "2nd Golden Age" which is 93 to around 95.

Golden Age is also referred to as old school now and old school as classic, but yer :)

Joe
20-05-2008, 01:30 PM
P.S. LL Cool J has been kickin it since 1983 and he's still going...much respect.

Did anyone catch Ice Cube when he was here last year? I've seen most of the big hip hop artists when they've been here (although I'm absolutely gutted that I missed Bone Thugz a few years ago when I was away in Qld at the time), and Ice Cube was definitely at the top of the pile for me. Absolutely blew me away!

I agree with that, but to me, the entire scene seemed to change around the time of Em coming to prominence... rap lost a bit of its "rawness"

Now guys like 50 and The Game are sposed to be the current day biggie and pac... but they just dont cut it.

Snoops happy plodding along throwing a bit in here and there but has never come close to repeating doggy style.

When Biggie got killed, we lost one of the best flowing and sounding rappers ever in my humble opinion.

Pac was good, but his was a voice of anger at the world - some of his rap was very very dark to say the least.

Its just not the same these days!

Joe

Definitely not the same.

To me, hip hop died when biggie and tupac died. Still awesome, but nowhere near the awesomeness that it was when they were spittin lyrics.

Rap died when biggie and Tupac passed.

Not Hip Hop.

I appreciate the foundations of the 90's, certain heads need to be remembered.

But Hip Hop is a deep pool... for me... from what ive been listening to and stumbling accross as i do... its going from strength to strength and is more exciting than ever...

the 90's were troublesome times and exciting. but not what Hip Hop is all about. thats why some differentiate between hip hop, Gfunk and Rap.

Ice cube and 2 pac are def the two big winners with me. but i love most of them, biggie was awesome, i was never really much of a big fan of snoop, the odd few but he never did much for me, whats my name part 1 was def my fav track from him.

then closely followed by X and Dre. Warren g and easy e running after that.

have to agree with joe, mobb deep def has some classics, "Hell On Earth" "Queens finest" and my fav track a newer one "Got it Twisted" best fucking beat.

have a copy of NWA's "the legacy", excellent double cd feat some of the 90s best music from 2 pac, nwa, eazy e, daz, the dogg pound etc, grab it if you can find it!! very hard to find now!!

Yeah gotta agree with you there...I use the word "hip-hop" a bit too liberally.. Lets just say that gangsta rap died when biggie/pac did.

Hip-hop is way too broad to start making calls like that....modern poetic hip-hop artists like Talib Kweli, Mos Def, etc...they really are the new school, the "smart" artists I like to call them. They are still cool, although on the cusp of being commercial (I hope they never cross that line). To me, they are the ones who really put much thought into their tracks and they speak from the heart rather than from the wallet (Soulja Boy up in this hoooooo)

Now if I was a rapper, I'd write a diss about you right now...but instead we're going to agree on this one lol :D

HIP HOP is Currently DEAD!!!
It has been for a while sadly.

The good shit goes unnoticed and the shit is heard and appreciated.

For example: Flo Rida and Soulja Boy has to be the saddest shit known to man.
I want to punch pingpingpingpings in the head when they request that shit!
No taste what so ever!!!

Don't get me started on people saying 'play some hip hop' when i am actually playing something like (old) Mobb Deep or (old) Ice Cube or Lupe Fiasco or Jurrassic 5 etc...

People are dumb and ignorant.

Now I have had a little rant I would like to know if anybody is keen on getting some mix tapes off me?
HIP HOP mixtapes that is!

Maybe I could upload them to a server for download?

Just listening to "duets - the final chapper" by biggie 2005 -

One of the best CD's I ever genuinely bought :)

1970 something - verse 3

Now I'm 13 smokin' blunts, makin' green,
Or on the drug scene, fuck the football team,
Risk it, rupt ur spleens, by the age of 16,
Hearin' the coach scream, make my lifetime dream,
I mean, I wanna blow up, stack my doe up,
So school I didn't show up, and fuck my flow up,
Mom said that I should grow up, and check myself,
Before I wreck myself, disrespect myself,
Put the drugs on the shelf, naww! I couldn't see it,
Scarface king of New York, I wanna be it,
Rap was secondary, money was neccessary,
Untill I got encarcerated, kinda scarry,
See 74' march 8, set me straight, not able to move behind a great steal gate,
Time to contemplate, damn were did I fail,
All the money I stacked, was all the money for bail,

That shit brings a smile to my face. Fuck he was too good.

Big L got a mention in here? I rate him higher than almost anyone.

Big L - Put it on

Big l is a crazy brother, and Im a lady lover
A smooth kid thatll run up in your baby mother

Big L, ft Kool G Rap - Fall Back

I cruise in a gs lex, cartier specs
Nautica sweats with the fresh gortex

Big L - Ebonics

Check it, my weed smoke is my lye
A ki of coke is a pie
When Im lifted, Im high
With new clothes on, Im fly
Cars is whips and sneakers is kicks
Money is chips, movies is flicks
Also, cribs is homes, jacks is pay phones
Cocaine is nose candy, cigarettes is bones
A radio is a box, a razor blade is a ox
Fat diamonds is rocks and jakes is cop
And if you got rubbed, you got stuck
You got shot, you got bucked
And if you got double-crossed, you got fucked
Your bankroll is your poke, a choke hold is a yoke
A kite is a note, a con is a okey doke
And if you got punched that mean you got snuffed
To clean is to buff, a bull scare is a strong bluff
A burglary is a jook, a woofs a crook
Mobb deep already explained the meanin of shook
If you caught a felony, you caught a f
If you got killed, you got left
If you got the dragon, you got bad breath
If you 730, that mean you crazy
Hit me on the hip means page me
Angel dust is sherm, if you got aids, you got the germ
If a chick gave you a disease, then you got burned
Max mean to relax, guns and pistols is gats
Condoms is hats, critters is cracks
The food you eat is your grub
A victims a mark
A sweat box is a small club, your tick is your heart
Your apartment is your pad
Your old man is your dad
The studio is the lab and heated is mad
he iron horse is the train and champaign is bubbly
A deuce is a honey thats ugly
If your girl is fine, shes a dime
A suit is a fine, jewelry is shine
If you in love, that mean you blind
Genuine is real, a face card is a hundred dollar bill
A very hard, long stare is a grill
If you sneakin to go see a girl, that mean you creepin
Smilin is cheesin, bleedin is leakin
Beggin is bummin, if you nuttin you comin
Takin orders is sunnin, an ounce of coke is a onion
A hotels a telly, a cell phones a celly
Jealous is jelly, your food box is your belly
To guerrilla mean to use physical force
You took a l, you took a loss
To show off mean floss, uh

Any others I should include?

Its all personal opinion, but there is enough out there for that to be regarded a pretty stupid comment. Jay Z is alive, he's dropped off from his former high levels, but can still match it with most, dead or alive. There is only one, MAYBE two artists that have been mentioned that could rival him or Nas.

Kanye is and has been killing it since College Dropout. Three classics and just about kills anything he gets on. There hasnt been anyone with his consistency since forever. What about Common? Lupe Fiasco? The Cool was brilliant, i'd go as far as classic, time will tell.

Pharoahe Monch delivered a top 10 album last year and put on one of the better shows of the year too at Good Vibes. Talib didnt do too bad either, many gems on there, Country Cousins is brilliant. What about the Roots? Had a listen to their Rising Down or the one before?

You're probably laughing off the South, but have you heard Rick Ross - Trilla? T.I.? Jeezy? Outkast, especially Andre 3000? Bun B?

New artists like Papoose, Saigon, Joell Ortiz have been creating mixtape buzz for a while and if you've heard some of their stuff you'd see where im coming from. Download the Bodega Chronicles and come back with the same opinion.

Have you had a listen to Clipse - Hell Hath or any of their mixtapes? What about the Cool Kids or anything a bit less mainstream like Cunninlynguists, Kidz in the Hall, move.meant or dead prez?

Thats pretty much off the top of my head and itunes list, i'm not trying to change your mind, but you seem to be living in the past and not willing to look past the obvious. I too know what i like and i guess i know whats out there.

I wanted to see what you thought was 'up'

Maybe it was a broad statement but most of the shit that is being churned out is just garbage and that is what the 'majority' of people listen to and regard as Hip Hop at the moment.

Common / Lupe / Rhymefest / Mos Def / Talib Kweli / Dead Prez etc etc...
Are all amazing but 'some people' just don't get it. ;)

I'm not living in the past at all mate, I am probably more up to speed on music than the average person - afterall, it is my job.

It just seems that it is quantity rather than quality at the moment.

The list I wrote is for a particular mix tape not my only taste btw...

I actually don't like most of the stuff from down south much but the artists you have mentioned do all have their merits and I either have their stuff on 12inch or on a cd....

Even the new stuff isn't that bad. Stay Fly is legendary.

REVOLUTION, i wasn't having a go mate, you just seemed really biased in earlier posts thats all. It is all about quantity, thats what happens when it becomes even beyond mainstream, but nearly a way of life. Every second person can have a single thanks to myspace, youtube and the general demise of society.

OneJ, nice UK selection there. Not really a fan of Dizzee, i'm pissed off because he took off a lot of shine from Kano. Though slightly different, i'd stick Mike Skinner in that lot too. You heard Karl Hinds? Jehst is just the master. Skinnyman Council Estate of Mind was one of the better records at the time it came out too. When will he ever follow it up.

Kanye is and has been killing it since College Dropout. Three classics and just about kills anything he gets on. There hasnt been anyone with his consistency since forever. What about Common? Lupe Fiasco? The Cool was brilliant, i'd go as far as classic, time will tell.

Couldn't agree with you more. Even though Kanye, Common, and Lupe have become pretty popular, it doesn't change the music they make. It shouldn't make a difference if the artist is in the Top 100 or not, should just be focusing on good music (just so happens a lot of 'good music' never makes it to the charts).

One of my favourite tracks when I was younger was Eazy E - Boyz in the Hood, so raw, but such a bombed flow. Might be another to add to the "Hip Hop is Dead" idea...

Put em in their place is hard :)

Yo, I was schooled by the hood, raised by the wolves
Trained by the pain, adopted by guerillas
Gotta tank for a car, ice for a arm
Got tattoos wit' skin and scars from brawls
Gotta buildin' for a crib, Manhattan for a backyard
Skyscraper ladies, they fuck me when they man gone
Kings of New York, I'm one of the few of those
Difficulties to come, it's gon' be funerals
You get a quiet spot in the shade, for a grave
I get paid, 'cause I got murder 'fore sixteen
And I'm so much rich, I got a condo for a piggy bank
So much stash, I just laugh at yo' face
Blow a stack on David, 'cause I'ma pyro
Maniac from carriage, wit' the Rolls Gold
I was told by the O.G.'s like my Pops
If you can't whip they ass, then niggaz get shot (shot, shot)

Gonna have a party for a bit of a party tune with some dirty flow

Pearly Gates for something with meaning etc.

Still - just had shook ones on - classic :)

2Pac - Picture Me Rollin
Three-6 Mafia - Ridin Spinnaz
Cadillac Don - Peanut Butter and Jelly
Rich Boy - Throw Some D's (a lot of people hate this song, but the remix with Andre 3000, Jim Jones, Nelly, Murphy Lee, the Game, and Lil Jon is fucking fantastic)
Eazy E - Automobile
Sir Mix-a-lot - Testarossa
Sir Mix-a-lot - My Hooptie
Slim Thug - Woodgrain Wheel

Thats just off the top of my head :)

Big L, man cant aggree more, many dismiss his content however theres always been something very raw about his delivery. Alot of my collection is radio sessions and mix's. Shame he didnt get a chance to create more as he matured.

Cormega... if you like Big L look into Cormega. Epic sounds. Very NY.

Pharoahe Monch delivered a top 10 album last year and put on one of the better shows of the year too at Good Vibes. Talib didnt do too bad either, many gems on there, Country Cousins is brilliant. What about the Roots? Had a listen to their Rising Down or the one before?

Cant fail to appreciate his consistent success throughout the years, speaks for itself. Pretty much up there

You're probably laughing off the South, but have you heard Rick Ross - Trilla? T.I.? Jeezy? Outkast, especially Andre 3000? Bun B?

Goodie Mob, Nappy Roots, Dungoun (sp?) family, Master P, C - Murder (meh) etc. Outkask are pretty much even with goodie mob in my books for #1 from the south. Never got into T.I, but ive never been into that sound. Got Rick Ross's latest in my car right now from a mate... not my thing.

You pointed me on cunninlynguists last time on oink, been havin a good listen since. Well eloquent lads.

As Fc3srx7 touched upon, NAS is a essential to ones listening.

Braintax, taskforce, skinnyman, rodney p, roots manuva, jehst etc.... dizzee rascals older stuff
If you into this get Louis Slipperz - £10 vol I and II - you won't be disappointed

Definately the rest. Not soo much Dizzy :p

Rootsmanuva is in his own, but struggling to build beyond his first sounds IMO. Brand New Second Hand... yehbombed.

Plan B, look into him. A bit dark but nice through a decent sound system and not bad for a quick listen.

Jehst is pretty much #1 for UK sounds ive been exposed to. Undeniably running the show.

Lewis Parker would have to be my #2 , Kashmere, Klanshnekoff (sp? the gun) , alot of the UK does it for me atm.

Fuggee's the Score is just simply awesome. probably something i'd play to someone who's never heard hip hop. unbelievable album.

In short, pre 90's listening from me:
- EPMD
- Slick Rick
- MF Doom
- KRS One

theres just too much from the 90's to pick from. Big, WU , NAS, Snoop, Dre, even eminem has some decent mix tapes. Mobb Deep, Big L , cormega, JayZ , Dead Prez, OutKast, Trible Called Quest, The Roots... the foundations of the 90's are just massive.

Recently Cali has been too much but Aesop Rock, Planet Asia are still very regular artist in my listening.

RZA, GZA, ODB, Method/The Iron Lung, Redman and Ghostface Killa However, cannot be touched in my books... Most of WU familia does it for me... but the above mentioned just dominate my collection. I thought i would grow out of Wu Tang after this many years... not quite.

Touching upon Big and 2pac, i love Big.. again uncontested as the King of NY by my books. but 2pac never did it for me. Gifted and overal a madcvnt. He became hard overnight.

2pac was alot less without the beef/east coast west coast gig and overall running the G-Rap Genre. He thrived on the hype, and would be alot less without it.
BigE was the King of the east. Tried and tested. He sold drugs AND was lyrically supreme. When he was 17. at 17 Pac was dressed as a female acting out shakespere in drama classes.

Two cvnts got shot... thats what happened.

Good threads these but easy to get carried away.

SoulSeek's still good. Have to dig around. I think more specific threads in the future discouraging opinions and off topic comments would be a good place for us all to keep updated and satisfied. If the mods catch that. just smash up a Macro for recommendations for us all to follow as rough rules. As opposed to these general threads.

If you want to listen to legitimate hardcore hip hop look up a pingpingpingping called necro. Loves singing about stealing girls off the streets, putting them in his dungeon and doing fucked up shit. He's a weird pingpingpingping but he's got a small following.

Necro - White Slavery

Woman need to be loved, injected with needles and drugs
subjected to torture and kidnapped they need us to cum
it's proven, I feed em dog food, they prefer human
make 'em savagely beat each other bloody for my amusement
It's all fun and games, I keep 'em handcuffed in chains
sexually make 'em do the most disgusting things
starve 'em to cannibals, make 'em eat each others brains
changed and deranged, stores begin to seem like nothings strange
while retarded acquaintances get fist fucked and raped
covered in lighter fluid, lit up and ingulfed in flames
sound proof walls guarantee to muffle your screams
squirm on a shit stained mattres in a puddle of pee

I personally dislike icp....
If you want to listen to legitimate hardcore hip hop look up a pingpingpingping called necro. Loves singing about stealing girls off the streets, putting them in his dungeon and doing fucked up shit. He's a weird pingpingpingping but he's got a small following.

d/loaded Necro - Our Life, pretty cool shite and Murder Ya Life, rapped over a famous Dr Dre/Eminem beat. very cool.

I go on and on
Can't understand how I last so long
I must have super powers
Rap 225 thousand hours
Get it calculated do the math
I made 1,000 songs that made you move your ass
And for the last 300 months
I made 16 albums with me on the front and the bump
Where you get your beats?
I heard 93 rappers say bitch like me
2 singers and 10 comedians
And I'm still gon' yell it every time you see me in
What's my favorite word?
BEEATCH!
Why they gotta say it like $hort?
BEEATCH!
You know they can't play on my court
Can't hang with the big dogs
Stay on the porch

Love that verse

LOL @ kottonmouth Kings

Necro - Talented and pretty much the angriest cvnt around lol... in a perverted sense. Done some good collabs... but rhyming about how to cook and eat a cvnt... lol

OneJ - Dj Babu for the win. Amongst the rest of the world famous beat junkies crew.

Havent heard of old too short, will have a look.

Yep, Necro is a bit.. you know. Ill Bill is pretty good too, but they all peaked with Non Phixion - the Future is now. One brilliant album, Necro produces as well as Pete Rock, Premier, Large Professor and JuJu.

Will never know how they got them to produce for a bunch of crazy unknown white guys.
