User Cull

All in favour of culling a few users? There seems to be an influx of internet-based members who don't come out to our events and don't contribute anything other than "haha omfg fulleh sik" etc etc.

Requirements for being culled:

1. Ones without performance cars who troll this forum to post up nothing but shit.

2. Ones who are just complete and utter muppets.

Might I also suggest slowing down user registration. I.e. refuse new signups and allow only once every 8 weeks etc. Alternatively a more stringent signup process. Of course everyone drives an R35 GTR on the interweb but it may detract fuckheads.

and by referal, not just writing someones name in a box but confirming witht he name they know the person and the details are right?

I think stopping new members from joining altogether and implementing a referral program. Theres a few private WAIX torrent sites that do this. Members also can publicly see who their referee was so if anyone has a habit of inviting poor users (or in antilag's case muppets) something may need to be done about that user.
The invite system is pretty simple, you put in the person's real name, ISP e-mail address and a reason for inviting them, then the onus is on you to ensure they dont act like a cockhog.

on LS1 forums, although it really doesn't do much, they have validated and non validated members. Basically to become a validated member, you need to have two other validated members to vouchfor you that you wont stir shit or be a general muppet.

But then you would have to make a validated section (which on LS1 doesnt really get used anyways).

I don't come along to cruises because I work nearly 70hrs per week and the only car I have that's running at the moment is a gazelle, which I don't consider a performance car and I don't want to inconvenience the quick cars. When my GSR is built I'll start attending but until then I don't think a gazelle cuts it.
I don't really want to get culled but hey, I can see where your coming from also

What about having the forums setup in such a way, so that to see the "whole" forum, you must be added to an "elite" group, so to speak...

ie: Muppets/etc can see but a few sections, and the people who matter can see all.

That way, it keeps the morons from dribbling shit all over the shop, and confines them to a small portion of the entire forum where they think what they can see is everything, when clearly it isn't, but they don't know that.

Average cars remain at a registered membership and don't have access to the full forum or approved members cruises. Kinda wanted to make it about quality not quantity.

I'll have to agree with Aaron. I don't go on cruises because the Poosar is a shitter that spends more time off the road than on. But the forums are useful to look up advice occasionally and have a laugh at some muppets stupidity.

i do agree with the culling but maybe send them a pm first (well for the ones u are unsure of) just incase there is life behind there user name, they might just have a really good reason they only look but not say anything.

the only reason i havent been coming out is because i wanna get my car up to standard.

its far to loud (fixed now)
and my carby is giving me hecktic problems (but its in the shop getting fixed)
and itll be painted by the end of the month hopefully
plus i scored some different wheels so it looks abit better already

I also work crazy hours normally I cant make it to the cruises because of the time they start. Also Im sure you would understand that some people have real lives with families. I dont post much but always browsing through quickly. I have an import, I dont get to cruise to much and dont get to post too much either, maybe send a message to the member before you cull them.

Being based in QLD for awhile (moving back to Perth on the 28th), I'm on both Boost and Cruisingbrisbane. Boost is a good for a laugh, and CB is mainly a social meet new people sort of club, although it can be good technically as well, with some very knowledgeable people from a variety of fields.

I know a lot of people on that site would love a 'Performance cars only' site, due to the regular influx of fucktards (muppets) that have no interest in cars, and pure bullshit posted on the forum. Once word spread however, I have a funny feeling stopping said fucktards signing up would be hard to police...

with a certain amount of rep points you can advertise in the classified section.
introduce something like certain amount of rep points will get you into certain sections...i'm sure that will weed out many muppets.
