'cause this is what can happen to you if you don't spend a few $$ on parking.
photo was taken in the wilson carpark opposite the Perth Train Station, costs like $100+ or something to get it off, was a funny ending to a top night :) not so for the owner...

I was under the impression that these arnt even in use in Australia.
I was under the impression anyone not abiding by the law is towed immediately and others just recieve fines. I had a friend who was a parking inspector in Perth.
Things may have changed just curious if your sure

Well if you think about it its cheaper to put one of those on a car then it is to hire a tow truck. I am guessing they would only tow your car if it was in a dangerous or spot where peopel have to go all the time.

can't brick those padlocks.. if it's the one I'm thinking of it's almost bulletproof. My mate had them on his shed which had some old classic cars in it.

Have ne of u noobs even considered thinking that if u break or get out of one of those clamps, there most likely going to have ur number plate down. As much as its a good idea to get rid of it, u prolly find in a weeks time a big fat invoice... :flipa:

the reason for the clamping is because wilson car parks is a PRIVATE company and does not have access to rego/address details... so you may get away with it untill they find your car and clamp it till you pay to get it off and they get there cash.. iirc it is about $110 to get the clamp of your car..
cheers

we got clamped once in northbidge after regular thursday night pub meet up, went to dominoes with cars parked over the road out front of auto masters ( i think it is ) and couple minutes after some cops ( who parked on the sidewalk ) walked in and ordered their food, piss off and came back again. the pizzas are on the live screen with a countdown of 10 minutes, we got ours and walked over the road ( had started to rain ) and these two guys were clamping out 5 cars so we got all shitty while getting soaked to be told it would cost $95 per car to get them off !! They reckon they got the call from a couple of cops ( how co incedental ) and said they had been there for over 20 minutes before they started clamping , which was total BS.
the clamps hook around the wheel i dont think you could get them off by deflating your tyres. the only way to get them off is grinding the single arm or to get the padlock off.
note i do carry bolt cutters in my boot now.
by the way, they are private clamping company subcontracted by the perth city council, and have mobile eftpos even.
