Has any one wrapped their whole exhaust system, not header, but catback??

Just wondering if it will make any difference, the wrapping is meant to speed the flow of exhaust gasses out so in theory it should.

thinking about doing it myself not for performance, but as i can feel heat coming through the floor.
I'd say the cat would slow down the exhaust enough to not make it worthwhile from a performance standpoint.

wot if the cat was removed?

i ran minus cat for a while last year made F all difference in performance, just alot more noise

Locote, wrapping the exhaust has its benefits yet it also has its problems.
Generally when people wrap their exhausts they do it to prevent exhaust heat from dissipating into the engine compartment. Hence header wraps.
The bad part is that it also retains heat much like an insulator would.

Secondly, you mentioned that by wrapping the exhaust (cat back or whatever) can increase the flow of your exhaust gas ? who told you this ?
Wrapping something on the outside cant increase the flow on the inside - see my logic. Dont believe everything a salesman trying to sell a product says.
The only way to increase the gas flow is to reduce backpressure - by typical means of increasing your pipe diameter. This however reduces engine torque. Too big a pipe you will lose power for atmospheric pressure entering the pipe will be greater than that being pushed out of it.
I looked into wrapping my old engine exhaust years ago but decided it was more wank than gain. Save the money for tuning the new cams ;)

Back pressure myth was busted a while back...
theres a thread about it

ok fair enough :)
but back to the pipe wrap, personally i wouldnt bother.

few things to thing about with wrap:

1) it can soften the rattle banging noises = :)
2) it can fray and get caught on stuff = :(
3) if it gets decent amount of oil on it (say big oil leak) and it heats up, a fire risk = :(
4) it can stop the amount of heating of floorpan = :)

keeping heat in the pipe is the whole idea, maintain gas velocity. is a good idea but the steel will deteriorate quickly underneath, how quickly depends on how hot it gets

something else to remember is its pretty expensive, esp when u plan to wrap 5 meters of exhaust

i got the big roll of the thicker stuff, $90.

Doing header tomorow, done collector and cat already, and what ever is left start wrapping it on the catback.

I have to do cheap mods now, only got 36weeks to pay for my holiday.

civic hatch backs are pretty short cars, 1 roll will get almost half the system done. header is the most important part then work my way back and see how far i get i guess
