Hey kids,
Got a couple of jobs coming up, one available now, one possibly available in 2 weeks.
First one is fly in fly out 9 days on 5 days off (8 sleeps at work, 6 home) to Leinster. Working at Darlot Gold mine (Barrick owner/miner)
You'll be responsible for doing an underground run to all the drill rigs to collect the drill bits for servicing, exchanging broken drill steels with new ones, documenting it all on paperwork, then travelling back to Leinster (mining town) to service the drill bits, transfer all paperwork to PC and liase with Brisbane head office regarding all above.
Pretty decent job once you get the hang of it. I'm doing much the same at Plutonic Gold Mine but in the supervisor's position. Job may become available here pending a new job for me back in the City.
Job here is 8 days on 6 days off (7 sleeps here, same in Perth) all days, same as job above except no underground run and no travelling to Leinster. Everything is provided on site.
Starting coin is about $50-55k I would say. Pay rise in 6-12 mths should put you on $60k+ and if you hang around and do the righty you'll probably score a supervisor position once a few of the other blokes move on.
I don't want any c0ckheads applying for this. I've got guys jobs before who start working and then miss Mummy and wanna go home. It's working half a year, so if you wanna make a bit more coin than you are in Perth (if that's the case) then let me know. Only apply if you're serious. I don't have the time to dick around with half wits. We want good people working, not lazy fucks who will only commit to the job for 2 months.
Cheers,
Dan
when do u need to know by mate?

Mate, it's a mine site... There's about 600+ employees. I've met a few Brendans.
BLAAA - Sooner the better for the Darlot position. I won't confirm an availability for my position until I speak to the powers that be in Canningvale about my new position. Don't wanna drop coin to come home, y'see.

No experience necessary guys, I must stress that. If you can use an angle grinder you're in front. If you can use a computer and programs like Excel + Lotus you're miles in front.
Get him to drop a resume : AGIT8D@hotmail.com . Make sure he knows that I don't want guys who will head up there for a month then can it. The induction/medical/uniforms/PPE process is expensive enough without having to do it 8-10 times a year cause pussies snatch it all the time.
I've been here 3 years and I came from sales at Harvey Norman so I can't imagine it's that hard on that people miss Mummy so much.
Let me know how ya go bud,
Dan

dan lah passed on your email address to my mate and he will forward his resume and bits to you this evening!! money seems a bit low but its a good start and should grow from there.

Does he have to email his bits? Haha.. resume will be fine. Can't quote me on $$ I'm just ball-parking. It couldn't be as low as $50k starting but yeah, better to under-quote than over quote.
Note also that people who have been hired previously have come from Employment Agencies and thus a portion of their pay is taken by said company. They usually have them on a 3-6 month probation with determines less pay. These companies haven't been working out and are probably due to the reason some guys snatch it early. I was hired over the phone in 1 day and I've been here 3 years. Sandvik's a good company to work for as far as I'm concerned. 9 or 12% super, lease options on cars etc, salary sac laptops, super etc etc..
I'll forward on his details. If my boss calls him he can find out pay then. :)

unless this is gone very keen

Makes 0 difference to me! Send resume's to AGIT8D@hotmail.com and I'll forward them as I get them.
As I said to someone else, whoever gives me the most beer gets the job.. But that was a joke.. But seriously.. Beer.
Basically the job entails running a rocktools contract, everything we supply to the drill rigs to go underground and bore/bolt/mesh etc. Job involves running effective costs month to month to make sure there are no dramatic fluctuations in CPM (cost per metre) per month. In effect while selling gear to the client we try to keep the cost down for them.
This involves: servicing/sharpening drill bits as opposed to selling new ones, straightening bent rods instead of selling new ones, rattling stuck bits off rods etc etc. You monitor each rigs usage and the amount of bits serviced daily and co-ordinate these figures with Brisbane Head Office.
At Darlot in order to get the bits/rods etc you'll need a manual license to be able to drive underground and visit each rig. You will be driving from Leinster (where you will eat/sleep/shit) which is about an hour, and same return. Servicing of bits etc takes place at Leinster where they have a bit setup of CME grinders and all the bits and pieces you'll need. Advantage of this is the fact that Leinster have awesome food, it's a town with pubs etc, service station loaded with mags etc etc.
Where I'm located is the North East Gascoyne, aka the Little Sandy Desert. We have a gravel runway so come heavy rain time, we can't fly out. But on the up side we don't have to do an underground run, nor do we drive an hour either way to another mine site.
Above said figures for servicing etc are all monitored on an Excel spreadsheet which co-ordinates with your weekly stocktake and is sent to Brisbane. Depending on site you'll also be involved in stock management and ordering, turn rate maintainence etc.
How's that?
Isnt that the town Rad got his balding rabbies from?
Sounds like a decent gig to be honest.

Haha it's no Peppy Grove that's for sure. But there are some advantages to being in a town.. Ie bitumen landing strip, flying on jets. Also downside is that there is no wet mess (pub) on site as there are pubs around town, so you pay $8 a corona and I pay $3 at the wet mess here :)
Do it TJ. Not like anyone will miss ya:)
Resume emailed mate should come in as jared ect

Doesn't sound difficult if you can handle the conditions.
With the rostered days, what are the hours, as I'm guessing it aint 9-5... 11hr days?
yeh mate just wondering if my email was also received?

Got both emails,
BLAAA - Would prefer it in a word document or similar if possible mate. You're applying for a job after all, I don't think many people would look kindly upon a resume typed up in an email body.
530 - 530, 1hr for smoko + lunch combined.
Conditions aren't that bad, but I've gotten used to it. Flies are f*cked. Gets hot but it's a dry heat, not as humid and smothering as down in Perth. Cold in winter, very cold haha.
sorry mate thought it was sent via note pad'? ect dont have word on this comp will resend it mate
