Hi all

This year, I am participating in Relay for Life. This is happening on the 29-30th March 2008 at Perry Lakes Stadium.

The objective:
"To complete a walk or run style relay with your teams common goal of passing a baton around the track for 24 hours. Relay for Life is 24 hours because cancer never sleeps. Camp overnight, enjoy a free healthy breakfast, entertainment and prize incentives."

The money raised will go towards research, education programs and support services for cancer victims & families.

You can sponsor me a flat amount, an amount per lap, or not at all. The choice is yours. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.

For more information, click on the link below when you have a minute and read away.

Let me know if you have any questions, or would like to sponsor me. You can post in here, or PM. I will travel to get money, or pass out my bank details for you to deposit the money if we can't work out a time to catch up. All cash is much appreciated.

I'll check with the organiser. It costs $20 entry (which includes a shirt, and a few other bits & pieces), and you are "encouraged" to raise at least $100.

Please keep the piss take out of this thread. It's for a genuine good cause.

Are you asking about entrants, or spectators, or both??

I'm not sure, but I can find out.

I'm still trying to get hold of the team leader TJ. Should be able to get hold of her tomorrow.

There is room for another in our team if you are keen.

Only put your name forward if you are serious about getting at last a bit of cash as well as the walking part.

I think I have surpassed my "target". To be honest, I didn't have one money wise, but I racked up just over $1500. As for the laps, I'll see how I go. I don't know how fit I am, but I should have an idea by the end of the day on Sunday. Hahaha.

Cheers again
