OK, sitting around my house last night (and being just slightly intoxicated), my best friends girlfriend asked me why my Japanese market only Cefiro had English words in it. Like, why does it say "Auto" on the auto-lights? Why isn't everything in Japanese? These cars were never meant for outside of Japan so why have all this English in the car???
Anyone have any ideas?

English is fairly well know in Japan. Not sure on the reason why their local cars don't have jap writer on them. The JDM S15's have the buttons with Japn writing on them.

my sisters reason for this is that many of the words written in english on the cars is because there isn't a japanese version of it, so they just use the english one.

Another probable reason is that those parts probably come out of a parts bin and are also used in other overseas models. Cheaper to just use the english language parts than have a 2nd set in japanese.
