more boost more power?

hey guys just wondering, i got my tune 2day pretty stoked with it, they said that any more boost would be pointless... does that mean even with more tuning and more boost there no way of gettin more power outa the engine? its runnin 18 pounds but the turbos good for at least another 5psi

Depending on supporting mods, more boost won't do much when the engine has reached its limit of amount air it can intake and expell.

its got a z32, wot else would i need? the engines built enuff to handle more boost but if i cant get anymore out of it think i mite need 2 go2 a bigger turbo :/

what turbo, who says its good for 23psi?
When a turbo goes out of its efficiency range, it will likely not make more power by adding more boost.
could be out of injectors, revs, fuel pump, dont know your mods.

2.2 stroked rb20 hey? List the mods its got. If you've gotten to the stage of having a stroker (assuming you built it, of course), you should know that you need to upgrade more than just AFM and turbo to allow for more boost ;)

there is a guy on here who smashed out over 400rwhp with a RB20 and TD06 (i think) turbo + lotsa boost, so it depends on your setup and how wild or mild it is.

got 600cc nismo's, bosch 044 pump, power fc, fogies, cams other little thingys here n there the turbos an apexi ax53b70-p25.. spoke to this bloke on a rex forum who had his runnin @ 24psi no problem.. lot of ppl say u really gota wind up the boost to get power out of it but if 18s as high as its guna go i suppose ill have to look into a new turbo? its suppose to b rated similar to a HKS GT-2835 :/

well what are you building it for? A bigger turbo will mean more lag, will be a pig to drive off boost. If its a drag car that won't be a problem I suppose, but why not leave it as is, should have a fairly good mid range yeah?

You might find the tuner wound the boost up higher and found there was no more power to be had.

If there is a restriction in the engine/system no matter how much boost you throw at it it wont make more power so whats the point ?

Subi's as a rule love big boost so hard to compare to nissan motors.

Also 18 psi into 2.2 litres is like 20 + psi into 2 litres.

Smash a gt35 .63 rear on your 2.2 if its the engine I am thinking of I wouldn't hold back. You will need bigger injectors but.

The apexi turbo was always going to be to small for a built rb20 !
I want to see how much it can make !

yeh mite look into a bigger turbo then, i do like it as a daily drive and has awsome mid range for an rb20, butters if your thinkn of Uras's engine then this would b it.. any1 interested in a trade/cash either way 4 a gt35? :)
