88 Camry
To put it simply..
You won't be able to find an off the shelf turbo kit for an 88 Camry, as they aren't a performance car nor a highly desirable car, meaning most people don't tune or modify them.
Your better off buying a turbo or performance car to start with...it'll cost less and be a lot quicker, not to mention it'll have more potential for modifications.
It'll more than likely be a lot more reliable too, as its designed from the outset to perform.
If you like your Camry sedan but want a bit of performance, how about looking at something like a Toyota Chaser or Aristo? Still a Toyota, still has 4 doors and will perform very well.
It'll probably cost you the same price in the end, if you were to modify your Camry to perform even as well as a stock Chaser or Aristo.
Just my recommendation, and although you don't have to take the advice....its the truth.

Whats that got to do with anything i said?
See post above (I posted under Mandee's name).
Your car is not a performance car...its an economy family car.
But obviously you have ambitions, so if you want to make it go fast, budget around 10-15 grand for your conversion. This could include a brake upgrade, suspension, fuel system, computer plus all fabrication and turbo gear.
Any shop can do it...All-Star Garage, X-Speed, Cypher, Maximum Motorsport, etc etc. Ring any of them (you'll find their names in the phone book) to book in a time to pay a visit so they can quote you on the work.
Good luck with it.

Yeah like joe said, all well and good strapping a turbo to a motor (a high compression one at that). But your only going to do wrong wheel drive skids into a kurb. If your wanting power your going to need LSD, decent brakes, suspension, good tyres. All as one big spend.
Perhaps a 3sgte from a celica will fit? (you have a 5s correct?)
3S-GTE will drop in, weather it's worth it, well, that's up to you. I don't know what one goes for these days, but you're probably looking at $2k doing all the work yourself, and not including supporting mods like exhaust, fuel pump etc. ....and then you need to make it handle and brake too.

buy a car from a turbo factory that already has a turbo on the car that you buy...
Buy a car, turbo. This car, which is turbo, will have a turbo, from the factory, where its made. Turbo will be fitted to the car which has a turbo in the factory of the turbo where its made. Turbo!

What is this stock turbocharging you speak of? Any cars come with stock NOS?
Take the advice Mr Ramsey and just buy a turbo car. Toyota Chaser, Aristo, Soarer, all good cars.

just buy a factory, make a turbo and put the turbo on the doormat of the factory. the boost will go via the wind into your corolla and you will piss in 598rwhp cause it will change to rwd if you put the turbo round the other way
cool?

to custom fit a turbo kit to an 88 Camry and getting a work shop to do it will cost you in excess of $10K easily and it will still be slow as sh*t.
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.
buy a Toyota MR2 or Celica GT4, will find them under $10K and they will go harder and not be looked upon as h0m0sexual.
PM Cerbera, he is a MR2 tuning specialist.

Turbo ur stock motor spend 1000s on kit to run what 4psi maybe 5 cause other wise you will start wearing the crap out of your 300 000 k motor and will need a over priced rebuild, that will allow you to run 7psi instead of 5...
Save your self the hassle, it may run good in winter but thats it..
Come summer kiss your motor good bye...
Unless your prepared to go all the way and do a full build up of your motor..
Dont even contemplate the idea of boosting your car.
I made the mistake and relised before i did damage.
Save ur cash and if u want boost buy one of the cars mentioned in this thread...

Nothing wrong with having a attachmet to your first car. If money is going to be a major contributing factor id go for the option and get a factory turbo car. If money is no option go for it modify your camry. Choice is yours be a sheep like 3/4 of the kunts on here or do something dirrerent.

You might think everyone is just pulling the piss (and they are) but they are trying to save you allot of money, getting your Camry turbo with all the supporting mods will cost heaps of money with out really making it all that fast.
Sell your Camry and Buy this http://www.antilag.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18976
Add an exhaust, intercooler, FCD, wind up some boost. And you will have a very fast car that will destroy your Camry with a turbo while costing just a fraction of what it would cost to turbo your Camry properly.
