OK, I'm planning to run in one, maybe two events in Super Street at the Motorplex national opens.
Super Street is a category for cars running between 11.00 and 12.99 and features some of the toughest DYO racing there is.
What I am wondering if is anyone wants to join me for a bit of a demo of hi tech/import/turbo stuff in the category.
It will be hard, you will get three qualifiers and then eliminations, entry is expensive at $105. Possible grudge runs but never guaranteed. Basically this is serious racing and you will be against tough competitors.

Who wants in?

Ooh yeah, apologies should have included dates.
The ones I am looking at are:

March 15 - Nitro Funny Cars
April 5 - US Jet Dragsters

There are a few late model V8s, unfortunately few and far between.

There was Shane Coleman's Monaro at the last one:

And future Top Doorslammer driver Craig Pedley's VE, but that was it.

My car isn't fast enough, but why is this one so expensive compared to Fast Fridays and other similar DYO competition racing events on the weekend? Just curious.

Also, not meant to be read as having a go at you, but again curious, if you go over 12.99, does that mena you effectively break out? I ask becuase I notice your time in your sig is 13.17 secs.

Cheers

Better prepped track , entry also gives you 4 passes ( driver n 3 crew ) more expoure for sponsors and possible tv coverage ..also chance to beet so called STREEET cars there running

Basically because its the top level. If you want to race drags on the big stage this is it.
It has prizemoney, I'm not sure on the amounts but I think from final eight onwards.
You also get three entry tickets (racer plus two crew), basically if you and a small group of friends intend on going to watch the racing, it's worth entering your car as well because a silver ticket (entry + pits) for spectators is $37, times that by three and you get $121 :), so you pay less and get skids haha. Shit its actually more economical than I thought reading over that heh.

PB is 13.17 at the moment Kilma, I have some mods coming before then to hopefully be running consistent 12s. Running in the 13s is not actually a break out, it's just that the minimum dial in is 12.99. If you can run 13.0 all day you would be in with a shot.

what if you dont run close to 12.99 or 13.00 before eliminations will they still allow you to race or give you the ass???

You can still race. That is excepting the Westernationals where you have to put in a qualifying run between 11.00 and 12.99.

I should also add an odd ANDRA rule that came in this season due to other tracks' inability to keep track of which cars meet sub 11 specs and which ones do not is that you can not go under 11.00 in racing, and will be DQ'd even if your opponent breaks out by more. That's why most guys now dial in at about an 11.10 so they have plenty of room.

i will probably enter the march 15 date, got my license and car log book and can run in either s/st or ss/aa classes.

ss/aa for when running on blower. s/st without.

I'm trying to get out late in the season and run super sedan in the datto. Its been to long away from racing but should be a bit of fun with the new setup. I'm also doing a full drag setup gtr for someone to run in super sedan which should be ready in a couple of months and also a built a sr and gearbox for a datto 200b for super sedan but that probably wont be ready until next season.

Sorry I sort of let this die in the ass guys, got pre-occupied with other things.

But anyway I have entered for this weekend in Super Street. I'm the only non V8 there! hehe

It will be tough competition and I still have a lot to perfect in regards to staging (which now requires me to stall up the engine rather than just floor it in order to run 12s) but I'm looking forward to the experience.
