ad at the top is broken, and that means to go backwards have to click links twice. I believe there was a problem similar a while back?

Yeh I've noticed this, unfortunately it's not one of our ads, it's a google-syndicate ad, which I'm not entirely sure how it got there in the first place.
Ideas?

Yup was on it at uni with firefox, and it wasn't there.
Sounds like it's something to do with internet explorers firewall settings...

site has also been hacked.
current1 has started a thread in off topic, but im sure you've seen it..
Site hasn't been hacked.
Current1 was a spammer. We get 30-40 of these stupid bots a day trying to join our site, which have to be deleted by hand, because there is no safeguards or forum add-ons which can completely erradicate these.
From the few thousand I've deleted in the past 3 months, 1 or 2 every now and then isn't too bad I suppose :)

cant the forum be set so that to sign up you have to enter letters and numbers to verify that its a real person.
Yes, we have. The bots still get around it!

at the start of this yr my account was deleted and to resign up i had to send an email with my name and make of car... then got approved a couple days later... is that not the case anymore with signing up.... cause i dont see how bots would get round that..

Bots usually post porn sites n other crap.

Hey man i found a way to stop the lil fooks on my site
In the optional fields that you put for registration, ie what car you drive etc, I have put one as "Are you human" And then I have made it manditory to fill in, and limited the number of characters in the answer feild to 3. So if you type YES there is no problem and registration can proceed.
BUT what bots do is to try retype there name or company, which is longer than 3 letters, and therefor they get a error in registration page and can not continue. I did this 6 months ago and have not had 1 new bot posting porn n spam n crap since
When i upgraded the letter code thing to try stop them it did sweet f all also, but this question with limited characters seems to work.
If I havent explained it properly, shoot me a PM, or give me mod access for a hour or so and ill set it up for ya
Has anyone noticed the site being up, then down, then up, then down over the past week or two? Highly annoying.

Yup, and also very slow.
I've sent an E-mail off to our host, if they can't resolve the issue we will be changing hosts again.

From our host:
"Our apologies for the delay in service. Your machine was just rebooted due to becoming unresponsive. All services should regain normality within 10-15 minutes, if not already. A report of this instance has also been sent to the Server Maintenance team for review. I will now formally offer to move your account to a server that has proven better reliability in both uptime and load averages. There will be downtime associated with this move, however it will be minimal as service on your current server remains active while the transfer is in progress. The complete process done by us will physically take about 20-60 minutes, while DNS will need to propagate to the new server over 72 hours. If you are interested, please reply with the best time to initiate this move and we will do our best to complete it at said time. I'll be awaiting your response as to resolve the issue as quickly and efficiently as possible. If you have any other problems, just let us know. We thank you for your patience. Thanks! Jeff T. "
Well... I might have to do the above, so I will nominate a 72 hour downtime and get it over with.
