I dont know what to choose to get the supra running.

i have the choice of powerfc, haltech microtech and autronics or wolf 3d 3.0 4.0

wolf 4.0 is cheap 1300ish with hand controller but app they need constant tuning.

i heard Haltech is very good and power fc. arghhh whats best value for money?

Wolf V4 need constant tuning eh? Why would that be? Trust me, whoever told you that is talking complete and utter crap.

Once a car is tuned, it is tuned, if the owner goes fvcking about too much changing settings etc, well yeah, re-tuning may be on the cards, but if you save the map to file, you can always restore it in about 2 seconds.

I have the 3D v4 in my car, and I love it...especially for the price.

i'm pushing for a 3d to - still need a bit of convincing - i always had autronics set in my mind - but then found the technical side of things rather than just "antilag" "rotational idle" - lol

Brad - Autronic is also a fair bit of kit. I was considering it but it turned out to be about $1300 more than the Wolf. The other thing, is with the engine you put in, you would want to go the SM2 which has more ignition outputs so you can run sequential ignition (someone correct me if I am wrong).

Wolf already has heaps of ignition outputs and now has a plug-n-play for your engine you are putting in, provided you get the loom with the engine. Anti-lag is available now too, as is realtime AF ratio metering on the hand controller etc etc etc.

yeh iw as once a wolf hater due to the mess the ealier versions created on some 4agze motors i experianced. Its seems now however that either the new version or the tuning of them has improved quite alot

Dori - Wolf used to be sold and tuned through virtually anyone...the problem was a lot fo workshops who didn't have a clue on how to make them work got their hands on them, and thus they got a shit name.

Distribution of the Version 4 has been tightened to a few "select" dealers, and the V4 is also a MASSIVE step up over the version 3. They really are a great ECU.

yeh as dori said i was put off by what i heard about them but there seems to be a select few who are praising the new v4, and their all users....

it will take some more convincing but i might just look into it a bit harder should the time come

Gary - are you talking about bad reports of the V3 or the V4?

The problem you get is certain workshops will say they are crap...but this is purely because 1. They have never used them or 2. They are not allowed to sell them.

You get the same problem with every ECU, a company is only going to push what they sell...it is in their interest to.

yeh of course. ive heard things that are bad about v3, and i guess thats put a cloud over v4. but ppl that have them are very happy which is a good thing. might look into it eventually

wish they'd take that cheesy x-hatch sticker off the handset tho :P

A clever sticker over tha fixes it - I am going to get Patrick to make me up a SilviaWA sticker to fit over the controller.

Ok MR Optical your problem is easy fixed, Book a time after Xmas and I will fit a Wolf ECU to your car then you can drive around for 2 weeks and if you are not happy then i will plug the factory ECU back in and away you go but you will not want this option as you will be very impressed. Can anyone beat this offer? I'm that sure of wolf ECUs that i'm happy to do this and you have my permission to publicly voice your opinion after , good or bad.
Wolf ECUs got a bad name from poor dealers and from a few shops that need to knock them to sell their own product.
We had a guy that was unsure of which ECU to use in his club car after asking around and getting told by
R---- --ch and S---- ---ks that no one uses Wolf on the track but i told him that many cars do so he went to a meeting and asked the drivers what ECU they had and most said Wolf so he got his new Wolf ECU fitted it up
I tuned it and he went of to the Track.Today one very happy guy came in with a gift for me very much sure he had the right ECU.GTS-t VESPEC was their to see this so ask him (Also a happy Wolf owner)
We supplyed 9 plugin ECUs this week inc one for Fabian so he can replace his Autronic that was just fitted.
Don't forget that ND4SPD has the first GTR plugin fitted and ANT loves it.
Sorry bout the waffle but WAs Speed shop scene is full of shit so we are getting as many top cars on Wolf plugin ECUs to make these shops eat their words.
SST is WAs agents for Wolf and the World biggest seller
but we have selected the best shops in WA as sub dealers inc Xspeed.Wheelspin,Maitland performance,
and Regional motorsport (for the Trevs) and now we have "The Ken and Lumpy show" onboard so the Northerners have a top outfit to look after them.

that sounds like a very tempting deal there steve, and thanks for offering it to me. BUT, i wouldnt wanna waste your time at this stage due to lack of modifications in place (few things being done soon) on my car, but once i get a few things on board i might save some dollers and look into your offer should it still exist :)

just out of plain interest, im in no way baggin wolf or any other aftermarket ecu as i dont know whats capable of what. more research will come when its my time.

but its good to see a shop out there willing to let someone trial a product that large, i cant see other shops going to that length to prove a point. :)

OMG, my dad sells the Wolf and little did I even realise the amount of support and enthusiasm behind the ECU!

But like most of you have said, the best thing to do is research around and find ppl who actually have the computers in their cars and once you are satisfied then decide...if you ask shops alone, "most" of them promote themselves as well as bag other shops (there are many who don't as well) and therefore you will get a single sided view, and only hear the good things about the computer and none of the negatives.

You got them for the jza70 (1jizza-geeteeeEee)

I hev greddy emanage with the injector and igntion harness waiting to go in, still waiting on the fields harness (ecu extension lead mathingo) to wire him in because my skeelz at cutting and soldering arent great when you have like 30mm of loom to work with :P

Mista Glen just bought wolf4 for the red 180 "that will never see tarmac again" and one of the guys who works for a customer of ours had one put in his GTiR and was singing its praises

*sniff* maybe i purchase emanage too soon

Good thread, GO WOLF!

SST Steve, do you sell the wolf ecu kit as a off the shelf product, if so how much are they going for?

and is the plugin for any given car a software or hardware based plugin?

cheers.

p.s any discount for antilag members? :D :D

just out of curiousity steve, seeing as your the biggest distributor of wolf in the world, how many have been sent back for warranty repairs and how many have been rejected warranty claims as this is what i was led to believe happened to Formaz, and which is why now they've scrapped selling wolf & now sell Microtech....???????

Steve is a legend,
He put a wolf into my car i love it, the computer is only as good as the tuner! <- Refer to my first comment

Roisery Idle
Launch Control
Anti-lag
Water spray
NOS
boost control
all possible and more
Formaz from what i heard forgot to pay their acount.
yes i had a problem with my crank angle sensor... big deal, slip a wolf disc in @ no extra and off you go.
Change your management before you want to change your pistons through to much boost and factory tuning!

Wow, seems like Wolf have a big fan base.

Two quick questions. Do they do CDI and can you log AFR over RPM?
