View Full Version : Change of Ownership @ Antilag
Brockas
26-09-2007, 12:03 AM
As of today, Morgs has relinquished ownership/control of antilag.com to myself.
With this brings a fresh change to antilag. While Morgs was a very competent owner, it had previously been difficult to maintain and update the website when the owner was on the other side of the country to the majority of antilag events.
While there will not be any dramatic changes effective immediately, you will notice a steady shift towards legal motorsport. That’s not to say we will be abandoning our cruises or any other events, but currently the proportion of legal motorsport to “other activites” is grossly lopsided.
With the law cracking down harder and harder on things most of us consider “fun” on the street, the track is becoming a cheaper alternative every day.
Cruise 18 was a great success however, and proved you can still have fun on the street if you are smart and sensible. This will continue, with our 19th cruise being held in the near future.
Expect to see new ideas popping up from time to time, and as always I’m open to suggestions from members as to what they would like to see on the site/forum.
In my opinion, we have a winning combination of people/interests on this site, and I hope this continues in the future of Antilag.com.

Indeed!
I'm embarrassed at how this is being handled, but at this stage it doesn't look like many (if any) will miss out on a spot this year.
It's pretty bad when even I can't find out who is in/out. Let me ensure everyone now, MV09 will be different.

I dont know you personally brockas but i agree with the shift of focus on legal motorsport and racing. Its dawned on me that the only way we are going to continue with our love of modified cars and not go crashing them or getting ourselfs in trouble with the law every 5 minutes is to race in proper events. I am certainly all for the traffic light grand prix but there is no future in it, the only way we can progress properly is legal motorsport and i support the movement 100%. I urge everyone out there to do the same be it drag racing, drifting, circuit racing, hill climbs, rally or even your normal track day its all about involvment. The more interest in each of these events the more often they will be held. Notice how cruises seem to be every week? Imagine that chaging to drag racing one week then circuit the next week then drift etc etc the only way that can happen is for everyone to get involved and generate interest and antilag.com switching to these kind of events is definatly a step in the right direction.
funnily enough no its the other way round LOL
seriously tho mate, good luck with it, it eats a fair amount of personal time so you have plenty of support from the palarchi pilates franchise.

Sounds good Paul, at the end of the day its not what car youve got or how much hp you make (cough...) its about having fun* and with more interest showing in track or driving days maybe there will be enough support for more/better/cheaper events
We've already seen this happen with mondays at the Plex, so who knows?
