At the end you can see him outside of the car... Sustaining numerous broken ribs, broken leg, punctured lungs plus other multiple injuries and on life support, he was given no chance to survive. 9 months later he was racing.

The team was actually heading to America to buy a new chassis after this event because they were concerned about the flexibility of this one. :(
