best so far is a 12.12@120mph in full street trim as driven on the street. - 60 footer was a 2.030 i think

next time i'll try a home made air intake and drop the rear tyre pressure to 20psi. hoping for a mid to high 11 in street tyres before going boost again.

yeah, im running 275's on mine, so that definetly helps. :-)

I suppose being FWD and all, when you launch a fair bit of the weight of the car transfers to the back leaving you with SFA weight on the front tyres reducing your grip levels.

what profile are your new tyres?

but at least with a deeper profile i can let a little air out and get better grip for the launch. a 60ft of < 2.0s will se me slose to a 13.0.

What mph are you running blueraven? I'm planning on getting some Toyo R888's for my ET Pulsar. I can fit 13inch rims with the front little brakes, the extra profile will provide a bit more traction off the line.
Planning to run a high 12 this season when i get some time to get the car all ready.

The r888 about $200 each also. Considering that swift did a low 11 with some (quickest street fwd) they can't be that bad. And at least you can drive it to the track etc or get use the tyres before racing. Plus they would be a bit more stable than slicks.

and your right there as well, the astra has 308mm brakes as std, i think there are 'some' 16's that fit, but its hard enough getting 17's...

and also now running federal 595rs..so not a slick, but definately not too shabby either. my main problem is weight...full leather pack and fully optioned etc. i think she is well past 1300kg :(

225/50R16 or 265/35R18? one has the height and one has the width, I guess dropping the pressures on the 50 series tyres would make more of a difference than it would with the 35s, but would it be enough to be better than the 265/35s?


not going to buy anything just for drags as I'm not planning to do it much, even if I crack a 13 I'll be happy.

S_E i would go for the 265's for sure, the extra width should give you alot more grip than dropping the pressure on the 225's (dropping the pressure doesnt really do much..).

I'd go the other way. 16's for sure I find sidewall gives more grip then contact patch as strange as that sounds.

The 16's on 18 psi would be my pick.

I've drop peoples times by .4 of a second by letting there tyres down when there not looking. hehe

People generally think dropping psi is like 24 psi but yer that won't do all that much. Sub 20 psi you start to notice.

Take both and try them if the tracks not to busy. Just remember once it gets dark track usually gets moist and shit :(

And definitely go the 16's. You want a high profile tyre with low pressure.

remember, smaller is not always worse, means a smaller contact patch and hence more pressure on the area.

First run, got off the clutch too quick and baked all 4, then missed 4th. 12.2 @ 111mph

Second run, let tyre pressures down and it bogged down, 2.6 60' time, 12.9 @ 115mph

Last run got off the clutch slower and it spun a little but got out of the hole well.

I missed the punch up - damn! i was too busy waiting in line for about an hour while they cleaned the track. The track was the slipperiest i have ever seen. My best is 12.8 and the best i could do tonight was 14.2 with lots of wheelspin most of the track. Wednesdays are becoming a waste of time.

the punch up was good value for money..almost more entertaining the watching the cars all die..as the secuity dude took that skin head dude away he pushed him off the cliff thingy near the commentry box haha

firstly, a clubsport drops oil all over the track, then the dude with the white rx7 thinks he is doing an awsome burnout so jumps on the hammer more and there is smarks flying everywhere and then the evo kills the box..

Brett Glover went 8.20 in the PTS car, a later run went 3.0 to the 330 ft markers which was on par for a 7.2! This thing will fly when it can be controlled.

Also the street bikes are getting close to the eights, Ross Smith went 9.00 on his naturally aspirated Hayabusa.

Yeah tried adjusting the boost controller, ended up dropping it down to about 11psi and it was fine... went up to 12psi for the next run and it started again... :(

you did some awesome skids dude! love the limiter smashing, did you get any on video?
i saw a few of your runs, you need to launch it a bit harder cause basically it was bogging down which gave you that 60 ft time
you could have got a better time then me with the right launch as your speed is way higher then mine, (mine was 164 km/h)
i managed a 2.2 60 ft time with a decent launch so im sure with that you could do a low 13
was good having a run with you, was great to see the old CA serve the rb20 :)

Yeah i had a couple of nice launches, had one 60' time of 2.1 but still had the boost issue, so couldn't really do much :( Think tonight was more for the burnout factor :P

tonight had to be the emptiest i have ever seen it, i manged to get 8 or 9 runs in befor my car had cooling issues (after 2 1/2 hours)

managed a 12.077 @ 119mph , 0.022 off my best but 3 mph faster so im confident theres a 11 in the setup, unfortunatly ive sold the turbo kit so hopefully my new setup will crack the 11!

Was good, I rekon the fact that it's a Monday and people don't know about it yet + the heat kept people away, I got 7 runs in the first hr! ended up with about 15 or so, and they closed it at 9pm.

ran low 14s all night, a couple of 14.05s, then wound up the boost from .8 to .9bar for the last 3 runs of the night, 14.2, 14.3 (wheelspin) then.................13.9@103mph!

just boost + pod + catback, 229rwhp. Coilovers weren't helping, but I let the pressures down to about 20psi on the stock 225/50s.

kept on having intercooler piping come off and had boost problems limiting it to 4psi.

then i went into the snakepit too...
no linelockers and forgot to take ABS fuse out.. killed my heli attempts.
and cos the car was running like shit, the revs died as soon as i got into 2nd. and the skids stopped :(
