sat night:

running like shite , turn the bleed back 3 clicks, runs wonderful , turn it back up 2, runs like a dream and hard. Starts to stutter etc onto boost , i think wtf is going on ive done plugs like a week ago. so i back off drive it off boost, then try again in about 5 min, its fine. go over some bumps, turn onto leach hwy, going up the hill away from maccas. give it a tiny bit of stick, spools then

Boom! blows a cooler hose off, right on a top of a blind hill. somehow manage to crawl it a little further off road.

thanks to adam, sean, josh. josh and simon who came down to help out , got it back on and nice and tight. left us wondering why it would pop off at 8-9psi - the culprit was found to be the bleed valve, which had one end fallen off , it say after the speedhumps it couldnt hang on anymore. this allowed it to boost as much as possible as there no control over wastegate. i thank my lucky stars it popped a cooler pipe or i would have lost an engine. no boost gauge doesnt help either.

sunday:

go to see josh run at plex, then decide to go out and give it a run

run one - 15.16 at 94mph - 2.8 60 footer , drive off line at 1000rpm with the bleed valve completely shut

run two 15.3 at 96mph 2.9 60 footer, cant hear the limiter for shit and bounce of 2nd and 3rd gear added two clicks (1psi) to bleed)

run three 15.06 at 98mph 2.9 60 footer , watch the tacho this time and get it better , though it spun off the line

run four 16.8 @ 80mph - 2.2 60 footer - get an awesome launch then promptly smokes the clutch - launching at 3k was enough to fuck it good

am i happy - hell no
am i sad - not really - i know it has no lsd no clutch no mods. the mph is good the lack of mods has killed me with my 60 foot times etc. im sure it can only improve from here.

well done to josh aka d1 rx7 too - 13.8 on debut.

time to forget about turbos and other crap and look to the necessities at this point, spool/lsd real clutch and a decent exhaust then real brakes ! (preferably first)

Yes lets not spend $40 on a boost guage to preserve a $3000 motor!

Yeah its easy to get carried away in HP
I'd love to know if anyone on here has an overkill brake setup tho

With a 98mph pass you should be looking at 13s tj no worries new clutch and a decent diff and you'll do that.. its all fun and games :)

Theres potential for some decent times there. I did a 13.7 @ 101mph way back when so you should be looking at solid 14's shortly!

Well done for getting out there and giving it a shot tj. It's obvious the car can do a lot better given the current circumstances. It's only gonna improve from here.

can only get better from there tj, :D

when you say 2 clicks = 1psi...does that mean 1psi extra? because it should still run at least stock boost...

not bad TJ, practice is all ya can do with no LSD and a bunch of torque buddy. Ya damn lucky u blew a cooler pipe off. By the way the measurements of drag racing reaction times has changed, the best used to be a 0.401, now the retards made it a 0.001 , just wondered if u had factored that in, doesn't change ur 60ft times tho. Bang in a spool and a clutch, and try not to twist a driveshaft :) good luck

hmmm, cooler pipe, i recall the same feeling on the antilag cruise...

yeh it would be 1psi on top of stock boost.
